install a boombox and play vroom vrooom sound...  :dunno:

you could modify your stock pipe to make it louder if you don't want to spend money on a new pipe. or just chop the pipe altogether!

if you want something that sounds nice and loud, you need to buy an exhaust...

And if you can hear it a mile away your neighbors will hate you.  How would you like to wake up some morning and find your bike destroyed?  It happens when you piss people off.  Sure an exhaust with a nice throaty tone is nice, but REALLY loud?  No, don't do it.  Enemies aren't good, especially when they live next door.

buy a laser deeptone system  :)  i did so, and the sound is just great :D (and it looks better to)

Maybe you should carry some M-80s with you and when you notice somebody quietly relaxing, toss one of those?

Search the message board for the diagram. There is a way to drill holes in the end of the pipe inside the end baffle, and down inside the pipe where there is a another internal baffle.  I'd give you the link, but I'm still spell checking that post.  Yikes.

I am planning to buy a quiet bike. This is my most important reason in buying a bike after getting 4 months of ringing in my ear 24hours, 7 days a week, very high pitch, often unbearable. I am riding a ZR250 Kawasaki that has a thrashing sound. Please advise if all GS500 bikes are quiet. I do not want to make a mistake. Sometimes I've read on the net they can be noisy high revving bikes. Hoping to confirm it is a quiet bike. With a test ride it is of short duration to get a good idea of the quietness. Please advise. Its either finding a super quiet bike or driving a car again.

Didnt someone once say Keep your friends close and your enemies closer???? lol lol

NightRyder

heiwa. They are basically quiet. You can always wear earplugs.. ..it sounds like you should have worn those before..

Maybe its been posted before, but where are those lazer deeptone systems from? The UK? How much do they cost? How would you describe the sound? ducati monster-ish?

I recommend not doing this because it would sound like poop

It's called Tinnitus.  I've had it my whole life...

If it's a recent thing, you should talk to a Dr. about it, since you probably have some inner-ear damage.  This Place says it's cureable...   :dunno_white:  And here is an FAQ about it:  Hear USA  They say it's treatable.

If you really want one that loud, just cut the pipe off... :dunno_white:

Don't worry. If it's anything like my 97, it will be really quiet but loud enough for you to know that it is still running  :)
