hi everybody, i really want to get clip ons, but most new ones like vortex and what not cost $100 if not more! :o  anyway, i managed to find some clip ons off of a fzr 600 but they are 38 mm.  can anyone think of a way to make these fit onto the 37mm stock forks of our beloved gs?  :dunno_white:

....buy the 38 mm forks....modify the triples....get a  custom axle and spacers....slap on a home-made front fender.... :icon_mrgreen:...
PETE: It's four in the funking morning!

SHAUN: It's Saturday!

PETE: No, it's not. It's funking Sunday. And I've got to go to funking work in four funking hours 'cos every other funker in my funking department is funking ill! Now can you see why I'm SO FUNKING ANGRY?

ED: Funk, yeah!

Get a 1/2 mm strip of metal and jam it in there...  Maybe that wouldn't be safe...   :dunno_white:

you could always just buy some 37mm ones...  I have a set of cheapo ones you can have for 20 bucks.

I ran those exact clip ons for a bit, they worked fine for me with a very little bit of rubber on the inside.  1mm isn't much of a difference, but something was necessary.  If that_guy is parting with them, pick em up, thats the easiest route.  Unless you want the Vortec set for $300+.  :cookoo:

mine are 37mm black.  i think there is a pic on here somewhere actually if you search my posts.  I have the vortex ones because they came with my bike and I love them.  I mean a clip ons a clip on but the 3 allen clamp seems alot more secure than a one bolt setup or something of the sort.  But hey for 20 bucks you could hae something to try out and see if you like em..

here they are actually

i will have to drop the forks a bit to mount them won't i?  well i sent you a pm ...

I did that to mount mine, as the clip-ons are about 37.8mm. Used a .5mm strip of aluminium as a shim.  :thumb:

If I remember correctly Airtech says to use "clubman" style bars.  BikeMaster makes a set that are really inexpensive.

facio57

bikemaster clubman bars don't go on just right, i know because i have them!  the middle bend in them is not enough to to clear the upper triple and u will hve to turn them upside down basically. its hard to explain, but try some other ones, the bikemaster ones aren't quit ethe right size for the desired look.
