Does anyone know where I can get a custom paint job on a helmet?

I think I've decided which helmet I want.  But I can't find a design that I like.  I would like to look into having a helmet custom painted but can't find anyplace to have it done.

Has anyone had this done, or know of a place that would do it, with out it costing a fortune?

Local air-brushing shop in a mall?  Local custom auto-shops that do body work, etc.?  For what it's worth, most helmets say not to paint them.  They claim "some" paints may reduce the structural integrity of the shell.  They never seem to say 'which' paints do this, though.

try the guys over at Seattle Cycle Center...they know lots of folks who do creative stuff.  The board by the stairway down to the tire section has folks cards and contacts for various services.  Someone should know something over there... :thumb:

hehe only problem is, helmets are expensive enough as stand alone, figure average price of a good helmet is what, 140$-200$? then you go adding custom graffix to be painted on by an artist( be it pinstripe or airbrush your gonna pay the artist) this can run another 50$-200$  for something thats gonna go on your head getting scratched up by road debris, bumped around just in normal handling and lets not forget, putting the helmet on the mirror walking 3 feet and hearing hit the ground as the mirror desides to toss it.  we have all had it happen.
Accelerate like your being chased, Corner like you mean it, Brake as if you life depends on it.
Ride Hard...or go home.

Its you Vs the pavement.....who wins today?

well I finally found some prices.

I figure it's about 500 bucks minimum to have what I want done.  not good.

maybe if I were going to buy a racer rep helmet anyway I might consider it.  then the difference between a blank version of the helmet and the racer rep version would offset some of the cost of the airbrushing.

(or maybe I'll just have to wait until I'm fabulously rich)

Damn!  You can get your bike AND helmet painted fairly nicely for $500 around here.  What are you wanting to get painted on it?  The Lord's Supper?  The Mona Lisa?  By the original artists?
