the r6 exhaust is a perfect match with a 45mm pipe i just needed to get a bracket for mounting,  perfect, cheep and a nice noice as well. have any of you other gs riders used the r6 exhaust??

On mine, I used the midpipe and muffler. Chopped up the midpipe and welded it back together to make it fit. I think it was off an '01 R6. It fit using the stock mounting location.

the exhaust is a harpoon race can, but is not printed with "not for road use" which i think in the uk where i am makes it void for its mot, ill i have to see how that goes when i take it in, the rules seem to be a little harse compared to new zealand where im from but ill see. i think ill use the original hanger bracket with a wrap around on the can. im not to sure if ill use the link pipe as yet ill have to look at the angles, i have only chopped mine off at the base of the can and slipped it on at the moment,
it sounds nice. ill post some pics when its on

well what happens its not how good your flow gows cause u do need some back pressure at a certain point for your engin or else it wont be working at its max potential so to big is not good and to small is the same you got to find the happy middle and right now all were trying to do is change the sound of the bike like it wont really change the performance that much unless you had a front to back exhaust basics here is that yes the pipe is probably a little bigger but with a pipe flange you might have a little bit less problems

There IS such a thing as too much flow. The engine requires  some back pressure to operate properly.  Too much flow is bad, and too little flow restricts performance if you have opened up the intake side.  Right now they are trying to change the sound, without a change in flow.  The pipe is a bit larger and may flow more, but they will try to avoid any problems by restricting the flow into the muffler with a flange.
