No, not you!  Yes, the one in the back...  No No No!!  The one in the blue shirt!  Yes you!!

Anyway, I live in MA and our turnpike is free from exits 1 through 6.  Now we have this thing called FASTLANE (I know NY was EZPass), where a transponder is attached to the vehicle, so you don't have to stop in the long line to get and give a stupid toll ticket.

Anyway, I just registered my bike for a transponder, but I need to find a way to attach it to my bike in a fashionable way, but can be removed when not in use.  I DO NOT want to use the velcro and attach to the screen.  Main cause it's BRIGHT ORANGE.

Any ideas?

Since you've got an F model, why don't you glue a magnet to the underside of the inside fairing by the guages Inside there by the windscreen. If the thing is metal, then it should stick, if not then you can glue a small piece of sheet metal to it so it can stick.

Or you can go the velcro route in the same spot.

Actually, you might even be able to get it behind the guages if its small enough.

Would it pick up the signal if it was in a tank bag perhaps????

A friend of mine keeps his pass under the padding in the top of his helmet.

Not much advice but I have heard of some bikes having issues if it isn't really out in the open.  I suppose you could put it in the top of a tank bag (the ones with the clear top for a map) and see if that works.

I have mine in the top of my tail bag, and it works 95% of the time. Note: this is for the tolltags in the Dallas, TX area. I plan on moving it to a tank bag once I find one I like.

You should check with FASTLANE but I have heard that some of these do not require you to actually carry the transponder with you.  They just take a pic of your plate and as long as it is registered they bill your account, no problem.

Again, check with FASTLANE but this might make life easier for you.

Here's a link to a BARF discussion on this topic, but they have a different company (obviously).  Maybe there is something in there you can use.

I actually went to the RMV today and asked about the external version, but was told that the external was only for cars.

They did tell me that the trasponder DID NOT have to be visible in order to work.  My new ICON URBAN tank bag will be arriving this coming Monday, and with the large map pocket on the top, I'll be able to stuff it in there without making a custom rig or using any adhesive of any kind.

Skoozi12 - Thankz for the idea.  I'm gonna check to see if I really need the damn thing as long as I'm registered.  I'd like to carry as litle as possible. :thumb:
