There's very few people that have inspired me to ride but GSJack was one of them. Strange that he would decide to leave though. The thread in question didn't seem too hostile. It could have been building up like everyone said and he just got pushed to the edge.

I've said it before and I'm gonna say it again: when it comes to forums and online discussions, the best thing to do is to remove postcounts. For some odd reason, most people feel more 'experienced' or with 'right to say whatever' as their post count increases.
This goes for any kind of forum in any country in the planet.

btw, it is true that there is too much garbage lately. I rarely visit and just for 2 minutes or so, since there's only rants and fights going on.

But, this forum served its purpose... at least for me, since I found the advice I needed for the last 9 months to start riding motorcycles at 28 years old. I just feel bad for those who come here now searching for the same thing I needed and find lots of bs and useless posts.

Just when I was about to make 2 videotutorials (not that are needed, but some people {me} learn better that way) about changing oil and cleaning chain...

anyway, no offense to anyone with this post, but if anyone really feels offended, i'm sorry but I won't continue an argument about it.

Is this turning into a duck waving contest?  No sense in losing another member who contributes.  Jack is gone, that blows, everyone agrees, but threats aren't going to help this at all, especially from an Admin.  For what it's worth, +1 on removal of post counts, it just promotes stupid posts that perpetuate arguments.

Not at all. I've warned aj to tone down her antics several times through PM. it keeps getting out of hand. I've banned her for a week as a warning (to her and everyone else). next time she gets out of hand it'll be permanent.

i'll also donate 10 bucks.  what about something as simple as a voting council.  we could select members to be on the regulating council, vote, and jsut ban people as we please.  there is a point where nice turns into too nice. time for a crack down.

Thank God.  By all means do it soonest. There's a solid 5-10 people who contribute nothing to this board, and by their immaturity and stupidity have pushed away people like Kerry and GSJack, who's experience we've all benefited from greatly.  That's f'ing pitiful, and the people who've turned the board in the direction it's been tending know who they are.  So do the mods.  Just ban 'em and be done with it.

YES PLEASE.

It seems like every week there is one of these threads that turns into a giant fight.  I think that everyone needs to relax and realize that this is a freakin message board.  Do I need to post the special olympics picture again people, I mean COME ON.  Sorry, just my $0.02.  (I'm sure they were unecessary and offensive so censure as you wish )

This is the only message board I have ever frequented.  As I learn what is okay and what is not okay, I find that when somebody tries to bait me, the best thing to do is close down the board for a few hours and think about what good it would do to respond.  If I can't think of a really good reason, I just never look at that thread again. 

Note: there really isn't a good reason to respond when baited.  That being said, I think we should keep post counts.  I think people should respect the people that have been here longer.  GSjack deserved to be treated with that respect.
