Hi, I Sherry from central Ky, and pushing middle age. It's been a long time since I've been on a bike. My last new one was a 79 250 Maico if that tells you anything. Last summer my husband decided he wanted a new VSTAR 1100 Classic, beautiful bike!!!!I made it real clear that if he got one it wouldn't be long before I wanted one too. Being and old dirtbiker I know it's alot more fun in the front seat. The Yamaha dealer had a good looking 96GS that belonged to the owners kid so we ended up bringing two bikes home that day. So far I love the bike, but I also love the look on you young guys faces when an old lady throws her leg over a crotch rocket.

So glad you found your way here... welcome to the asylum. There are some unusual people posting here, as you'll soon discover. Since you own a '96, it is probably red or black (the stock colors), with a gray frame, unless it has been repainted at some point in time...

Ride safely, and have fun. Please post some pics of your GS so we can all drool over them...

You found the right place to learn and talk about your GS. The info you can get here is AWESOME! and I have even made a few part purchases from other members. I have recieved more help from this board than any others I subscribe to.

Welcome!

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't appreciate a beautiful woman that rides a motorcycle.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

I'm shocked by the age discrimination.  I thought you would get as much of a kick out of the look on the Old men's faces.

To get my wife started in riding, I got her a crotch bottle rocket, 250 Ninja.
I have to admit, nothing makes a woman's butt look better than a sportbike.

Still have the Maico?
He said "I don't know man, ah she kinda funny, you know".  I said "I know, everybody funny, now you funny too".  JLH OB,OS,OB
