See http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=23515.0 this thread for some background.

I've just downloaded kerry's valve adjustment video.  I will be decoding the video into elementary streams this weekend and authoring it into a DVD over the course of the coming week.

I imagine that at least some people will be interested in obtaining a DVD copy of the video.   I was planning to offer it for ~$2.50 plus shipping, but some folks (see link above)  have expressed displeasure with that idea.  I'm certainly not trying to profit off of Kerry's work or cause a rift on the board, so this is what I have to say:

I am not willing to distribute (potentially) mass copies of the video myself without some way to recoup the costs of materials (disc+cases, wear&tear on dvd burner).... so if anyone wants to handle distribution of the DVD to board members themselves, I can send them the image data and they can make copies themselves.

Someone also suggested putting the VOB files on a torrent.  The DVD image is going to be in the neighborhood of 3+ GB, so that isn't practical since the wmv file of the video is already available and 1/6 that size.

That is all for now

Why not create an ultimate service guide and include the tutorials for other service items like oil changes and clutch lever adjustments as well?  :icon_lol:

That sounds like a great idea! Are there other video clips available that could be put on the DVD? I know there are some great written tutorials with good pics.. perhaps we can use those on the DVD as well? Maybe even have a ton of pics of members GS's

I think that making a GS500 Ultimate Service Guide.. IS AN AWESOME IDEA  :thumb: Galahs

This might sound kind of strange but I have a "pirate" suzuki parts interchange CD on it's way to me... It covers models from the 70's up to 2000.
Fett's (CRASHED) Ride-Flush Mounts, Aluizio Undertail, Aluizio Hugger, Wileyco w/flange, K&N, Sudco Jets, Custom Painted Tail & Fender, 2wheeljunkie LED Tails & Factory Clip-ons       Now I'm rolling an old school GSXR1100 w/1260cc kit built by Joe Marasco himself and two Harley 883 sportsters!

I don't see anything wrong with burning it and sending out copies for a small fee, just like you said, to cover wear and tear on your equipment.  Some have suggest weird things, like sending a self addressed stamped envelope with a blank DVD...huh...why...seems like a big waste of time and energy.  Just burn it and send it for a few bucks...no problems...and thanks for helping get this information out.  If a few people get mad over you helping out, well, you can't make everyone happy...

Putting the parts interchange on sounds like a good idea... but that would be only partially useful for someone NOT playing the dvd with their computer.

The whole reason i'm burning it onto dvd is to make the video more widely accessible to folks who might not have dvd-roms on their computers or get stuck out somewhere with no computer around (it happens).

If I had the time, i'd even subtitle it :-)
