Ok.

Last semester, I was only going to school twice a week (nights) so I always stopped at the campus police office to get a temporary parking tag.  This semester, I've got a morning class Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.  I also have a night class on Monday.

I am NOT going to wake up early enough three days a week to stop at the office for a temp tag.  Luckily, they dropped the price of the M/C tags for only $15.

My problem is that I HAVE to have it on the bike, but I don't wanna put it on the forks and scratch them up trying to remove them next semester.

Any suggestions or ideas?  If you have a tag on your bike, pic please...

anything on 2 wheels parks for free at my college  :icon_mrgreen:

Even in my car, i hate sticking those things to my windsheild, so i stick it to a clear piece of plastic and then stick that on the window with some tape or something, so its easy to get off and doesn't leave a big nasty mess on my windshield - maybe that will work (depending on how much they're stolen)

I used a small sheet of aluminum plate I bought at a hardware store for a buck. It was big enough to hold the parking sticker with room left over; I drilled holes in it and mounted it to the left headlight ear, above the directional. It wasn't pretty, but it got the job done while I needed it. There might be better / more elegant solutions, but this worked for me.

We are allowed to put them on the fender.  Otherwise, underneath the grab rail on the plastic piece that joins the side pieces.

i have the same problem at my college. I have to put in on my fork no matter what or its a 20 fine. this semester i have to put it on again but i wanted to remove the old one. i just took a razor blade bowed it out a little and scraped the sticker. then took some go gone and got rid of all the sticky stuff. it didn't scratch the forks at all.

what i did this year was get some clear vinyln and put the permint on that. then cut the outside of the permitter of the the permit and put it on the pic. not all i have to do is peel the vinlyn of the forks. the reason why i did this is that the permit is a safetly on that crack when you try to scrape it.

I put mine on the case for the speedo. It's clear enough so I don't get any BS tickets. It's a little obvious, but with USC colors it doesn't look too bad on my bike.

Thankz KIMO3825!

This is useful information.  I just gonna slap them on my front forks.  I thought the razor blade would scratch something.  This will be the best solution for me.

I've also asked campus police if I could just buy the tag but not put it on.  They said I HAVE TO put it on.   :bs:

I bought a piece of plexiglass (3" x 5") from the local Lowe's.....I drilled a hole about 1" diameter near the edge on top....I then put the sticker on the bottom portion.....I mount it on my bike with the disc lock....that way no sticker to take off at the end of the semester....

I understand now...  Unfortunately, I don't use a disc lock.  I tried, but with me being in a hurry, the last thing I want to happen is for the disc to brake on me because I forgot to remove the lock.  Thankz for the pic.

....I have the same worry.....and I did that once....I use a bright yellow cord that hooks to the disc lock and extends to the handlebar....I've seen some that use one that has a plasic end that can be put into the ignition....

....last year I used the same peice, but hooked it to the helmet holder under the seat....that may be better for you....I use the disc lock method because it's more secure.....and my permit cost $85.....

i like mastrind idea for the sticker. HOLY COW thats and expensive permit. i hope that is for the school year and not just for one semester.

mastrind

...yes...it's for the entire year (Sept - Aug)....

[RANT].....what really pisses me off is that this is actually a car decal....yeah....sometimes I gotta take the POS car....(same price for car and bike permit as ASU West - yeah that's jacked up too)....a car permit can be used on a bike, but a bike permit can't be used on a car (stupid ASU reg).....but the dumbass parking nazi's don't funkin' know that, so when I ride my bike, they constantly harass me about why I don't have the proper motorcycle decal (high turn-over rates = bottom of the barrel intelects).....[/RANT]

I have this idea for my problem.

I relocated the front reflectors off my '04 to the front fender (Instead of being attached to the fork, it's attached to the fender).  The screw hole that held the reflector on the fork is still there (both sides), so I'm gonna use mastrind's idea, but the hole will be smaller so I can screw it into one side where the reflector used to be.
