Hello all, I know I told a few of you that I would have a picture of my newly re-done GS!  Well, its finally posted on the last page of 'Members Bike Page".  Let me know what you all think.  I have own my 1990 GS500E for 4 years.  The past 3 months were spent working on adding all mods I have been meaning to do.  She has Gimbel full fairing, Carbon Fiber rear solo seat, SV650 rear shock, Vortex clip-ons, ingnition advancer, new flush mount turn signals, fenderectomy, new colored grips.     Still to come:   Decals (on there way), new exhaust, new wider tires, seat pads, rear hugger, new jets, and progressive forks.    Just wanted to say thanks to the GStwin site for helping me along in my mods!!!  -Ryan

Your bike looks sweet. :thumb:  I love that fairing and the Ducati red looks good to.

Just tell me that is not your riding gear ;)

i love that fairing, does anyone know where i can get a used one??
are they easy to put on, i only ask because i heard that some of the full fairings are a pain in the butt, do you need clip ons for that one???

Never liked the fairing look but yours does seem just about the best of the lot I have seen...Of course the factory issue ones for euro markets are nice but are they $$$ or what. Is that JamesG tail and fairing??
Cool.

Thanks for all the compliments.  It's nice to hear, considering all the work I put into her.  The fairing was ordered from Wild Hair Accessories, but its made in Germany by Gimbel.  Yes is was rather expensive!!  And took a while to get.  Although, I really wanted a fairing and I didn't like any of the others that I have seen out there. This one gives it a sleek look.  It was actually rather easy to put on.  I thought it was going to be a long process.  But I got in on in one very productive day!   Irfan, the owner of WHA, told me that there are only 3 of these fairings in the US, so it will be nearly impossible to find a used one here...  Clip-ons have to be used with this fairing!!  No that is not my riding gear!!!   8)   That's my chillin, drinking beer gear!!     The seat is from JamesG!!!   I love it!

That is a pretty smooth looking GS. Even with the full fairing. Nice work.  :thumb:

No it does not come painted..  It will come primered and ready to paint though.  I wanted to paint my whole bike at once anyways, so it worked out for me.  The fairing is fiberglass, no CF.. The seat is CF!   I am not sure if the clubman bars will work.  The clip-ons are perfect for this fairing though... They give you that racers sitting position and they do not interfere with the fairing at all..  Thanks again for all the compliments, I really put a lot of work into her.... But she turned out like I was imagining.  The GS is a great bike for mods... You can practically do anything with her!  More pics soon...

Looks like you might as well save some weight and take the rear pegs and the left side peg holder off since I don't think you'll be doing any 2-up riding with that setup ;)

Unless of course you swap out the rear end back to stock.

Looks great, but mine is staying naked. I'd love the wind protection but I'd trash the bodywork in no time flat
