So as some of you may have read in my other posts, I just got new rubber for my bike, and I pulled the carbs to rejet them.  Here's the dilemma:

I bought the Mains (125's) a week ago because they had them in stock.  I had to order the pilots (#40's).  The parts person looked up the jets in her catalogue and went to place the order.  I looked at the page and it said "mains".  I asked her, "Your ordering pilots right?  This page says 'mains'."  She says "Yes" and places the order.  So I wait a week and get a call today to say my parts are in.  I go to pick them up, and they are #40 MAINS

I toss them back on the counter and tell her that they are the wrong parts, so she gets another parts guy to help me.  He comes over and pulls the parts fiche.  He loads the fiche of the carbs...and can't find the pilot jets.  I had to show him where they were, and he says, "You ordered #40's, this says you need 37.5's."  I say, "I know, that's why I'm rejetting my carbs...I want the BIGGER size."  :icon_rolleyes:

He looks up the correct part # and says they come in packs of four, which I knew, and I see on the screen that a set is $15.  He goes on to say the distributor only sends them in four sets of four.  Yes, that's right, he wants me to buy 16 pilot jets for $63  :cookoo:

I, of course, say NO, and I get a refund on the mains they ordered.

Idiots.

So, now to the problem at hand.  I searched the site and found some threads on carbs with part #'s and such, but most are old.  Who's done a rejet recently?  Where did you get the parts?  How much?  And, if you had to buy four, do you want to sell your extra set?

Prompt responses will be appreciated...I'm tired of my bike being in pieces, and my carbs being spread out on my work bench...

Go to another dealer.  The one you're hitting up is operated by boobs.

...or call up Factory Pro.

Ok, I just found my invoice from a year ago. My 40 pilots for a 1997 GS500e were obtained from Bike Bandit. The part number is  TR-427130. I think you get four for the price. They totaled up to 19.04 including shipping. If you go that route you should have them sitting at your door in about a week.

You might also list a want ad in the FOR SALE forum. Since they come in fours someone should have a couple they could spare.

I appreciate the help...ordered a set from bike bandit.  I'll have two extra, so if anyone needs a set of #40 pilots...let me know!
