might have a problem

i put a k&n filter and a vance and hines exhaust on my 05 and havent rejeted it yet i rode it for a while like this and now when i let it warm up and take it out on the street it hesataes before it wants to go so do you think i caused damage to the piston or what im going to try and rejet it theis weekend but not sure how to get the carbs out any sugestions..... :dunno_white: :dunno_white: :dunno_white:

just rejet it and you'll probably be fine.

you're running super lean. dont ride it too much like that. it'll run hotter than normal and may cause damage.

in extreme cases you can burn your valves. you'd know if you did that though. some riding wont do that probably though, just take it easy till you get the rejetting done.

You are risking SERIOUS engine damage by running the engine in such a lean condition. Seeing valve heads melted onto piston crowns isn't pretty, though it is expensive. I once saw a piston with a big hole through the crown where the ultra-hot valve head broke off and punched through the ultra-hot piston crown; if you don't understand how bad that is, it means that the valve head made a path into the crankcase through the top of the piston, and it was cheaper to buy another engine than it would have been to repair all of the damage the slag and fragments from the valve head and piston crown caused as they fell down into the crankcase.

Tell us where you live; maybe another member is local to you, and can help you get the carbs re-jetted soon.
