The only thing I don't like about being able to legally carry guns is that there are those people, who have terrible rage problems. The kind of people who explode and become violent when they get into a fender bender or someone makes fun of them. This kind of person carrying a gun is maybe not such a good idea. Having witnessed the direct affect of a shooting recently, (black on black shooting out front of my work just as I was about to walk out) I can tell you that it looks like it would really suck to get shot, and especially if it's just because you called the wrong person fat.

...remember, I live 2 miles away from the toughest part of the city.  Even people living in ghettos in other parts of the city are scared of so. Phoenix.  I/2 are ilegals and the other half meth addicts.  Can't drive worth a shaZam!, can't speak engrish, but CAN make tasty rolled tacos :thumb:

I wonder how long before a moderator moves this to the TF

I also live in Phoenix.     South Phoenix is ruff so I dont blame you for carrying.     They are trying to make it better with all the new construction but it will always be the getto.

Another Phoenician :thumb: And can back me up about the area :thumb:  I'm in Laveen off 31st Ave, the nastyness starts at 19th.   No matter where I go, CircleK, taco stand, wherever I see all kinds of dirt bags.  I'm in a nice development, but once outside that it's gross -reminds me of Tijuana.

Where in Phoenix are you?

So. Phoenix will always be a human cesspool.  I don't care how much money they dump into it.

In 14 months and 2 weeks we can sell the house and not pay capital gains.  We are moving to Chandler.

I live in Maricopa, moved out here 4 years ago.   I used to live in Ahwatukee and that was close enough to South Phx.    Chandler is a nice place, I'd move there if housing wasnt so expensive.

I always thought it was funny that a nation with a zero-tolerence ban on firearms was home to the gun-crime capitol of the western hemisphere... :2guns: :2guns:

I would imagine it would suck to get shot for any reason, be it road rage, prejudice, or downright stupidity.  :icon_rolleyes:

Oh yea.  Right on.  Maricopa is growing like the rest of the valley.  The wife has a girl at her work who just bought a new house out there.  At least there's quiet roads to do some speed testing.  I have to do it through the Indian reservation on 51st Ave/Beltline going the back way into Ahwatukee  (you know the 10 mile stretch of nothing before hitting Queen Creek road)  Best speed so far: 152mph :icon_mrgreen:

Chandler is nice.  Expensive, but a nice home can be had for 300k.  I bet Maricopa prices are up to almost 250 now.

Houses on the east side in San Jose *start* at about 600k.  :flipoff: 300k would be a major bargain(ie. you won't find it here!)!  :cookoo:

depends where you get shot. I think i would rather get shot than stabbed several times... if i had to select one for some reason, that's what i would pick.

An insane amount of medical resources is wasted on all of these goofs getting shot in toronto, i'd love to see the medical bill of one of these 'gangstas' who needs a full trauma team and days and days of critical care becuase someone sold him low grade crack. I bet its in the hundreds of thousands of dollars after the first month.

Yeah it's getting expensive out here two.   Just sold my 1300 SF house for 205K.    Building a new one, 1950 SF for about 225K.    Still a lot of house for the money!     I am familiar with the beltline.   I have a friend who lives on Baseline and 51st Ave and take the beltline to get over there.    His house and car got broken into within a year of moving in...again the whole too close to South Phx thing.

I love the newspaper articles that compare housing costs and describe what one can purchase for the same amount in different states. A tiny, starter, one-bedroom bungalow in some la-ti-da area of California will cost as much or more than a five-bedroom mansion elsewhere in the nation.

However, every time that I think that I *really* need to move to a more-affordable area, I'm suckered in by Cali's weather and year-round riding...  :dunno_white:
