I just thought of something. I remember reading, a long time ago, that certain manufacturers would reimburse you for the cost of taking the MSF course. And I just heard a Suzuki commercial (for ATVs, but stay with me) on the radio and at they end they said "we recommend you take a rider's safety course; we'll even pay you for it."

Does Suzuki do this? I just paid $130 for it and would love to recoup the cash.

By the way, I bought the bike brand new from the dealer last April.

If that's the case, then I'm guessing you have to buy the bike BRAND SPANKING NEW, and take the MSF asap.

I imagine that you'd have to take the couse before you buy the bike, then they's just discount the $130 from the price of the bike.

That's usually how it works, BSD.  Kawasaki joints do it, too, in some places.  We don't get incintives like that in Texas, though, because MSF classes here are $300...

When I bought my quad (Honda brandy new from the stealer) they gave me a thinger to send in with a copy of a MSF or other safety program certificate and they would reimburse you for up to a year afterwards.

when i bought my brand new quad from suzuki, they payed for the course, and paid me $50.  this is in missouri, an for a first time buyer, if you were a second timer, then they paid for course only

can I still apply for this thing?  I bought the bike new and took the msf for $190 

My msf was 375..canadian mind you. It dropped my insurance rates by about 800 though, so i made my money back already.

yes I think mine was about $390

wow, at that price, its no wonder a lot of new riders don't take it.  it should be included in the price of every new bike. that is if the major manufacturers really give a shaZam! about its customers

Isnt it more of a personal responsibility thing? If you want to take the course, you can take it. You shouldnt expect a corperation to really give a shaZam!..

there are a lot of things that fall into that catagory, if we all had responsibility we wudn't need law enforcement either.  point im trying to make is that if the atv industry can get together an offer a course to save lives, why can't the motorcyle world do the same.  hell you don't even have to have a license to buy a bike, any shmo off the street can jump an a new gixxer an kill themselves.  an if you think that has no effect on you, then double check your insurance premiums an tell me differently.  full coverage on a "crotch rocket" is absolutely insane.
