I went into Helimot to get some new boots today (early birthday present from my beloved  ).

I've heard wonderful things about Helimot, and both my bf and I intend to purchase custom leathers in a year or so.  My bf had been in there not long ago for some purchases of his own.

I was going to get some Lady Stars to...ahem...add a little height, but they're scarce, and they didn't seem to be the best fit for me. I was having trouble finding a good boot for me, and Helmut (he's the HE part, and his wife Linda's the LI part, and MOT = motorcycle!) himself assisted me, measured my feet, and recommended a custom-made boot that I can have a cobbler add a bit of height to. He's going to also order me an extra sole for each boot so that all the cobbler has to add is the height filler.

And this custom-fit boot is going to be CHEAPER than the Lady Stars! 

I can't say enough good things about Helimot. I think one can order custom-made leathers online from them, too. They deserve an A+++++ for customer service!!!

that's great, I love buying handmade-in-the-usa products.  Tanners and tailors get scarcer each generation; I'm glad you found a local shop where customer service is still a priority

The boots are actually made in Germany, but the cobbler will be right here in the SF bay area.
