some guy around the corner has this out. asking $600 bucks OBO. looks to be in great condition and the sign says runs very well.  does this look like a good deal?  what kind of parts are available?

Parts for old enduros like that are extremely hard to come by, and can be expensive when you do find them. We have a 1981 Yamaha XT250 and a 1980 Suzuki TS250. Finding parts for those was damn near impossible, and the ones that went up on eBay sold for a lot more than we could really afford to put into the bike.

I bet it'll be pretty reliable though, good for putting around the neighborhood at least.

But, parts can be a problem...  H#nda 90s are easier to keep running since they were so popular.

I'd search around a little to see what they're selling for... And what parts are around.

I have nothing helpful to add to this thread but my first bike was a 1979 yamaha enduro 100 JUST LIKE THAT cept it was red. That is all.

for 600, you could ride it till it quits, then sell the rest of the useable parts an still be prett well off as long as its in decent shape.

That's me after my glorious faceplant after a not so glorious ski jump. I used to ride that bike until there was a terrific smelling blue haze all over our field. Man that thing put out the exhaust.

IMO bikes goe for way too much. Lowball the damn guy. Thing was probably only 699 brand new 25 years ago.

yeah wont hurt to try to shoot low, hell we come from the brotherhood of gs500, ya know frugality at its finest lol, or in laymans terms, putting in as little as possible lol but that thing looks like it would be fun as hell to ride tho

not much that I have heard of for this weekend. All the big drinking and such was last wekeend for St. Patty's day.  If you here next week you could go see Ben Folds for free at the Bigelow Bash down at Pitt. I guess the only thing that may be happening is Pitt woman's basketball if they advance in the womans NIT. I only know that from the radio this morning.
