Hey, I locked my forks but accidently turned the key a little too far and turned it to the park switch which left the running lights on, consequently draining my battery.  I have a battery charger that I use on cars that can be set at 12 volts 2amps or 6amps. What setting should I use or should i not use it at all and push start it and let the altenator recharge it?

Hi

I feel your pain--just did a similar thing yesterday.  Anyways, yes, the battery is 12 volts and I would use the 2amp rate.  I've got mine on a 1amp charger tonight.

I wouldn't run the 2amp for more than a few hours.  That should charge it OK.  Motorcycle batteries don't like to be over charged - Makes them wear out prematurely.

The schumacher...Most likely the one he's talking about (I have the sme thing) has a sorta sensor that stops charging when it gets charged, and even though it says 2 amps it probably only gives 1/2 amp, of course if the battery it bigger/emptier it will run higher. It just charges at a variable rate so over charging or charging too fast dont happen.
