I was wonder what you did to get it installed.  I have one in the garage and was stumped as to where to begin.

Any help would save me money.

It took a bit of doing, got a dremel cutter bit... one of the metal ones that looks like a drill bit... sorry for lack of technical terms... not enuf caffeine today...
cut two half circles from the inside "dash", I didn't want to cut the whole thing out and destabalize the contraption, but it needs to fit up around the instraments.
cut the corners out of the top of the windshield, and drilled two new bolt holes farther in to make sure the windshield didn't vibrate.
cut out two U shaped divots for the turn signals... in retrospect, I probably would have gotten some flush mount turn signals and just drilled a hole for their wiring, then cut down the stem on the stock turn signals to protect the wiring.
it definitely helps to have a second set of hands...
lemme see if I can get the kids to give me the space to take pics and upload them...
the end result is not bad at all!

do these help?  pardon the sloppy page!

you have to cut higher up over the brake lever and box to keep it from rubbing.

you'll have to bend the brackets a bit to make them fit.

and the brackets bolt onto the *inside* of the headlight mount... that was intimidating... good to have a mechanic as a friend.

it's a plastic fairing so it will melt where you are cutting and bog the bit down, but it cleans up easy, and didn't gum up my whole dremel.

on the whole it wasn't that horrible of a project, compared to shelling out hundreds of $$ I didn't have.  just go slow, take a bit off, check it, take a bit more, check it.

Thanks for the pictures and the tips.

I'm pretty sure that the fairing I have is different but the text and pictures give me an idea about where to start.

I saved the larger pictures, so if you have to wipe them out, go ahead.

Cool, I'd love to see what fairing you are working with.
