RIP RICH! We'll miss you buddy!

couple questions.

whos doing campsites, have you started booking certain numbers? My GF and I are going to tent camp. So what area should i reserve in and by what date do you guys think?

Also, I cant ride two up and bring all our (aka her) gear, so shes going to bring a cage. is this frowned upon? lol

I am not sure who else is tenting, but I know Jace is. And the answer to the date would be "soon". You might even be the first to reserve a tent site. If you are, then post up what area you got the site in so the subsequent tenters can get one near you  :thumb:

Haha, of course not. The only thing frowned upon would be not coming  :thumb:

Ok kiddies  :icon_razz: I got my reservations in. Weazelnoze and I will be in "Cabin 32".

Call (570) 636-0206 to make your reservations. I have already informed them that there is a group of us coming, and that if possible, we would like to be slated next to eachother. So when you call to make your reservations, tell them you are part of the GSTWINS GROUP. She said do this as soon as possible, as the sooner you reserve the better chance we have of being all together, and the be3tter the chance you can even get in. She said the park often fills up around that time of year. So do this soon!

Total cost for mine and Chris's cabin was $80; $40 per night for two adults. June 23rd and June 24th are the nights we're staying. She said even if you get a cabin, "bring everything you need as if you were tenting" (like sleeping bags, etc). There is an electrical outlet in the cabins, but no water.  There is a picnic table and a fire ring.

Just a note to everyone - you will want to check in AFTER 3pm (but before 10pm) on Friday. If you check in before that, they charge you a half day's rate.

Remember, make them as soon as you can and tell'em you are with the GSTWINS GROUP:thumb:

'04 GS500F...Anyone from Jersey wanna ride?

LimaXray

Do you think this is the kinda event a total noob should go to?  It sounds like something I wouldn't mind checking out.

I'm from NJ, right off RT80, not too far from the gap, so this wouldn't be too far for me.

Lima - This is definitely a noob-friendly event! It is a pretty big group; there will be all skill levels. I've been riding for a couple of years now and I ride more like a grandpa than I did when I first started riding. So you won't be left behind anyway. And like Jace said - always, always always "ride your own ride". Everyone I've met from GStwin is awesome; we're a good group and we look out for eachother. Do try to make it. I'll add your name to the "interested" list. Next step: Figure out if you want to come Friday night or Saturday morning. I suggest coming up Friday evening with some of the other Jersey people and camp Fri and Sat night! You will have a lot of fun, and meet a lot of great people.

And no, you are not too far away. There are others on this board that are planning on coming from New Jersey. You might be able to ask one of them (or the group if they are coming in together?) if you can meet up with them and ride to PA with them. SuZuki10, un1261, and spotswood_suzuki are all from NJ. Maybe you could PM them and make arrangements.

Hope to see you there! BTW, this is also a budget-friendly event. Fuel, camping, and food is all you should really need to worry about.  :thumb:

Yes...you must come.  The more people we have riding, the badder we look.  Like Rich said, these are all great people...very nice and fun to be with!! Can't wait to see you all!

LimaXray

Well then, I'll definately have to come!

I see some people are also bringing a car to carry their stuff.  What is everone else doing?  It's gonna be hard to carry a tent, sleeping bag, beer, etc on the back of a bike.

I could just rent a tent and rough it with what I can fit in a small backpack.

Hmmm... Theres this big tank thingy right in front of where I sit, maybe I can keep my beer in there or will it get warm?  :icon_lol:
