Have you ever taken the time to venture to other message boards on the net?  It seems like the further up in displacement you go...the dumber everyone gets.  The squid factor is definitely shown.  I find this surprising, and I would think that there would be plenty of mature riders, preaching about wearing gear, getting basic skills down and doing your racing/stunting on the track.  This is definitely not true overall.  I just got back from ZX-10R.org where someone was talking about how awesome knee dragging feels at night in just a t-shirt, no helmet.  Funniest part is...everyone chimed in and agreed.  ???  Everyone at r6messagenet.com preaches about how great the R6 is for a beginner because of its low amount of power.  ???  All of the endless talks of wheelies, girlies and general posing sure does make the sport bike community look like...you guessed it...a bunch of squids.

That said, this is a pretty intelligent community we have here.  Keep it up!

I totally agree, Turd.  I visit another forum and they are a lot of posts that start out like this:

"What is your top speed, mine is 179 (indicated). . . "

or

"Moving up to the 'Busa finally (after a year)."

It seems like this forum puts a premium on riding well and riding safely.

P.S.: Ed, go insult somebody else.  I am sick of your BS.

I am starting to frequent the FZ1 message board. They have a similar attitude to us. Preachin' about gear, safety, and how the FZ1 is NOT a good n00b bike.

Go to ADVrider.com. Their version of odds and ends is brutal, and they are a bunch of ATGATT nazi's.

Warning: mostly white guys in their 50's that ride BMW 1150GS's.

Yeah, we never have anything like that here :icon_rolleyes:

I don't really see anything wrong with that since we only get it once every few months, I just thought it was funny

There are a few places that aren't all squids, you just have to pick an choose.  Like Alfa said FZ1 is good, Badweatherbikers(Buell) is pretty good, and I'm sure most sport touring forums aren't too bad either.  Unfortunately most ofl the forums dedicated to bikes with outstanding performance are dominated by squids, but squids are just in it for the image (ie talking themselves up on the net) while the real riders are still out riding
