Hey all! check out what I just made. It's perfect for working on my bike and allows easy draining of the gas tank into a fuel can.  :thumb:

Instructions for making it are here.

That's sweet, Tussey.  :thumb:

Looks a lot easier than what I was doing last night (holding the tank while it slowly drains...)

If I had the tools, I would build one of these bad boys.

looks good!  I don't like the idea of drilling longways through a 2x4 and using lag screws though.  I think a simple bracket or even just some wood glue would be better.  If you wanted to get fancy you could dovetail or tongue-and-groove those crosspieces too.

Pretty cool.  I just used some sawhorses, but that's nice.

I'll take one in black walnut with ebony inlay.

I used to watch that woodworker guy on PBS...The Woodwright's Shop or something like that.    It's an amazing (and dying) craft.

Good job!

that's what I did too.  I'm going to have to make one of these stands though, I can't ever pass up the chance to make some sawdust.

Interesting idea.  Now, when you need a fuel tank to balance your carbs go out and get 6' of fuel hose to connect to your carbs.

When do you make the bike lift?   :)
Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?
