I'll be camping too! I'll be at a primitive site if they have any within a reasonable distance from a parking area.

why do I need a folding chair?  rope?  Tarp?

I am thinking minimalistic here, Dude.  everything has to fit on my GS with no luggage and survive the 400+miles
I could carry the chair, tarp and rope.  but why?

I wouldn't be able to carry an airbed, kaya, or lantern either.

I'm thinkin:

tent
flashlight
fleece sleeping bag
blanket
cold/wet weather gear
extra socks/boxers
an MRE
PSP and games
a hotrod mag with lotsa ladies (or a porn rag with lotsa cars)

all in a waterproof gym bag strapped to the gs behind me.  WHAT else would I need?

How many people are actually riding a GS500 to it?   :dunno_white:

3imo

also is there a GSTWIN meet point for that day?

I'm not. I would say the bast meeting point would be the gas station/restaurant/motel at the beginning of the dragon, but a meeting time would be helpful. I'll have no say on that though.

I figure we'll decide that when we get closer to  it and people start to really commit.

Ok, I voted and I'm in.  :thumb: Yeah 3imo and thatguy if ya'll wanna meet up and cruise together I'd be down with that, I like the solitude of the road but their is strength in numbers esp. w/ unforseen mechanical failures which NO ONE will be having. I'm just saying is all. I need to start saving now for this trip.  :icon_confused:

so lets aim for 6-8pm at the resort (the hotel at the start of the gap also the end/start US 28.)
get the fire going talk shaZam! and have a few beers and then get a good start in the mornning.

i am trying to ge the cbr runing but tools, it seems, are harder to find for this bike than the parts. but in any case even if i sell the gs i will be there. i got to get this cbr runing.

i will be camping. thats for sure. i am just hoping for clear skys and a good time.

Well all, it looks as if I'll be coming on the 9th - 11th now.  I was going to go the next weekend with the R1 forum, but my wife has me taking her to Chicago to see Madonna instead.  We should seriously look into camping/staying together.  I'll be towing my bike down with the Town & Country.

I should be there provided nothing changes (again).

For everyone else...c'mon, join in!  :thumb:
Something is wrong with my twin...all of a sudden it's V shaped!  Wait, no, now it's a triple!  ...and I IZ NOT a postwhore!

so far I count 5 campers.

Rangerbrown can you come up with an address for that resort?

All campers meeting up? at the resort?

**why does the idea of 5 GS500's lined up seem funny to me?***

Right on!  :thumb:  any better and you'd be steering the bikes for us.

Camping first come first serve?  sounds funny. I hope I don't end up homeless, that night.
