They're blinding people. Might want to stop using it.

I noticed a difference with their new formulation, but I wear my contacts so infrequently, I guess I will have the horrible eyesight I now possess.

you might want to pick up a different variety...even if you use it infrequently.  They're seriously giving people fungal eye infections...some are permanently blind.

infequently like I haven't worn them in like a year.    I think I still have the sample bottles from the optometrist.  Only wear them when playing sports and in my current condition I will have a stroke before I go blind.    Thanks for the info Mak.

honestly From what I have heard it isn't the solution that is causeing the problem.  It is that the solution doesn't prevent the fungus from growing.  So its not the companies fault, more like people who don't take good care of their contacts and the solution isn't protecting them from the fungus.  Either way, if i had contact i would switch for the simple fact that i would like something that actually  cleans and kills things.

My eye doctor recommended that stuff to me but I could never find it.  The Forbes article I read on it said it was just the stuff with Moisturlock.  Oh well.

that's kind of misinforming...they haven't find any direct link between renu and the fungus that causes blindness. it just happens that a small number of patients who were interviewed by federal officials happened to be using renu. that doesn't mean it causes blindness. and some wore their lenses overnight which is known to increase the risk of infection.

there are also same outbreaks in other parts of the world.

I wear extended-wear lenses....use and toss...never bother with cleaning solutions or saline solutions.... hmmm...it's been a couple of months...I ought to change my lenses again... 

P.S. My doc recommends changing lenses once a week, so do as he says, not as I do!

Has anyone had eye surgery to correct their vision? I've thought about it, but I would hate to have the halo effect when I like use my bike as my main transportation, including at night.

There's over 100 reported cases of an extremely rare eye fungal condition in a really short period of time...they ALL use ReNu.  Sayig Baush n Lomb are blinding people may be misleading, but you have to call stuff like this as you see it.

Thanks for the heads up.   I only wear contacts when I feel like scaring people but I have ReNu so I'm gonna stop by the drug store and pick up a different brand.

Even if there is no direct proof, you only have one set of eyes so why risk it?
