I have a dell Latitude that after a reformat and reinstall (Win XP) will not boot at all in the docking station.  On its own it is fine.  Things i am going to try are BIOS flash and chipset driver reinstall.  Just in case that doesn't work does anyone else out there have any other ideas that i might have overlooked?

Oh and we have a metric A$$ ton of the new Intel  Macs that we have to format and get out the thier prospective users.  So i put windows on one and guess what, it ran windows way better than the fastest PC that we have here in the office.  if anyone wants the specs i can post them, untill then i have to run around again and do some work.

Cannon Fodder

Can you suspend the laptop then dock it?  XP will usually install drivers for a docking station and update them using Windows Update.  It's been a while back but it seems that the last Dell docking station I had came with a drivers disk.

I would go on Dells website and look up all the drivers using the service tag number for your laptop.  I never really played much with a docking station, but I don't see how the BIOS would have anything to do with it if it worked before the format.

Yeah that was exactly what i was thinking.  However a bios update fixed it right up.  Not exactly sure why it worked before and not after but I was thinking it was wither that or the chipset drivers.  Either way it works now and i hopefully won't have to see that user for a long while

Thanks for the words guys
