I already did a search but I couldn't find the exact answer.  I have a 96 GS500E and I put on a M4 exhaust on it.  I put in the dynojet jet kit and K&N pod filter.  got everything hooked up, but when i start it it idles really high.  around 8k-9k.  what do you think the problem is?

too much fuel.

Maybe the throttle cable is too tight opening up the carbs.

What size jets did you put on.

When you rejetted did you mess with the idle adjustment screw?  It's the long screw with the wide handle coming off the bottom of the carbs.  Try screwing it out a few turns and see if your rpms drop.  Like galahs said also make sure your throttle cable isn't binding up anywhere and holding the throttle open.  If neither of those things helps you'll have to remove the carbs again and double check that everything is put together correctly none of the ports are clogged.

Are you sure GS's can use Dyno / K&N filters etc. ?
I have  come across GSXR & other slingshots which wont tune with K&S because the carbs need to draw still air from the air box...
May be worth look into !!1
