what do u guys think of the teknic violators and fieldsheer sonic gloves? theyre both on closeout at new enough for the same price....cant seem to decide....i have a pair of icon tarmac gloves but i think ill only wear those in the summer.....
What kind of riding boots do u guys wear? all the riding boots i see seem impractical (roadracing boots) or just plain ugly....

oh and i won a fieldsheer mach 2 jacket on ebay....im 5'8" and about 120 lbs. and a size small fits great EXCEPT the sleeves are way too long....the elbow armor is on my forearm.....but i really was surprised with the quality on the jacket.....some mesh jackets ive seen look really cheap but mine is half leather half mesh and it looks well-built..
Don't mind me I'm just new.

I can vouch for the Volators.  I'm on my 2nd year with the pair I have.  They held up in a lowside (wet) crash during a race with barely a mark on the glove & no injury to my hand.  I like the kangaroo palms.  They allow a better feel of the grips & levers IMO.  The sizes seem to be "normal".  Teknic small fit me.  AGV small were too big.

I have Daytona Winner boots.  Not cheap ($279) but I have a problem finding boots in a men's 6 or Euro 38.  They are primarily roadracing boots but can fit over jeans & they are solid black, not like some other "Power Ranger" styles & colors.

I have a pair and I'm thinking about getting another pair because the're awesome!  A buddy of mine told me they were great (he has three pairs) and they seem like a lot of protection but still a good feel and nimble enough to do stuff.

How does the jacket fit when you are on the bike in riding position.  That's how most all jackets are designed (arms outstretched).  I have a Mach 1 (no leather) and its a great jacket.  The quality is far above any other mesh jacket I've seen.  The hard CE armor is top notch too.  You'd be surprised at how well the liner works in mild mornings.  I was wearing it on 50* mornings and it was working great.  No one around here sells FS so I was taking a chance on it but I've seen so many positive reviews about it that I checked the size chart on their website and found a used one on Cycle Forums.

well the armor is ok in riding position but im not gonna be in riding position when i go down am i? ill probably try to do something stupid like jump off the bike and try to grab that nearby tree branch or something....
the sleeve is very long tho....the top of the elbow pad is at the bottom of my elbow...completely off....if i stretch my arms out in front of me with elbows slighty bent, the armor goes in the right place....i think they shouldve just armored the whole area.....

I've got an idea that might work.  Unfortunately I don't know how big the holes in the mesh for your fieldsheer jacket are (I've got a joe rocket reactor mesh jacket)  Maybe you would need to do a little quality needlework.  Get a length of the thin bungee cord that is used on backpacks and coats to cinch things up, and the plastic cinch/stoppers that go along with it.  Your body armor has a bending point where the elbow piece meets the forearm.  Does your mesh jacket have a double layer like mine?  Anyways, thread the bungee through the sleeve of the jacket,  going between the outside of the jacket and the elbow pad, right at that bending point, then continue all the way around the sleeve, weaving through the inner layer, and bringing the cords out together at a point in order to cinch them after you put the jacket on.  The cord should rest in the crook of your elbow when wearing the jacket.  Try not to mess with the outer mesh too much cause that is what protects you!  and anything you do have to snip through (where the cords come out) should be reinforced with good stitching.

This should let you bend and straighten your arm without the armor shifting position.  While your arm is straight, the upper sleeve will be a little bunched up, but you can always loosen the bungee when just walking around.

Mind you, I certainly haven't tried this before, but it's an idea.  I'm 6'3, 195 and I have problems finding things that are long enough!  I might have to do something like this to the waist of my jacket... the velcro straps joe rocket put on my jacket for adjustment, I'd need to be about 4 inches bigger around the waist for it to fit right!  Not too many products out there for the long-limbed type either.

Regarding the fit of your jacket, perhaps you can get a quote from Barnacle Bill who makes custom leahers & does repairs & alerations.
I think the website is www.racingleather.com.  He answers emails rather quickly.

i tried falling alot in my jacket.....it hurt....ive knocked the wind outta myself a couple of times and gave myself a headache.....

looking to get a pair of boots....new enough has alpinestars for $170 but no size for me.....im thinking maybe ill get a pair of sidi's?
i dont think the "street" boots look too nice so im guessing i might as well get a full blown race boot for the superior protection....$200+ seems a bit expensive for footwear......
