I took the California Superbike School back in '90...I still have the t-shirt.

Keith Code did the classroom instruction and I learned alot about countersteering and setting up the turns, and setting up for the turns.  Then he went over the track layout, the flags, what to do, and then let us all out to get our gear on and ride the bikes.  First was a couple of warm-up laps following one of the on-track instructors, and then we were basically let loose.  I pitted and chose a new '90 250 Ninja, as I was intimidated by the size of the 600.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Where are U from?  I took the FAST course (phase I) at Shannonville in Canada.  Awesome! Most fun on two wheels!

Everyone should HAVE to take this course to get your licence.  They teach you how to corner, lean off the bike, look for the entry and exit points of the corner, throttle control in the corner, braking before the corner, ...

The first couple of sessions, you follow the instructor around the course and they show you the lines to take.  On these laps, I thought I was going about as fast as I could go - lap time about 1 minute 50 sec.  It is a fairly short course.  By the end of the day, most people were running lap times from 1 minute 7 to 17 sec.  Pros do it in about 53 sec.

I am signed up this year for Phase I and II combined May 10 and 11.

take it, just cause you will be taking the class doesnt mean you have to ride at a pro level. As long as you know the basics you will be fine, and come out with a way better understanding of riding.
