I agree, it's very sweet. What's the MSRP, like $25K?  :o  You're a lucky boy.

I'll trade you my GS, the '81 Honda C70, and an '81 BMW 3-series. So you'll have a motorcycle, a scooter, and a sweet Bavarian auto. Let me know...

Thanks for the complements, guys.  The reality is the MSRP is $9K.  When I bought the bike, I figured it was time to do it right.  I had purchased two bikes before it, trying to do things on the cheap.  You quickly discover that it isn't worth doing things on the cheap.  You end up paying more...  You can search and find a thread where I discussed bikes with people on this forum.  I figured out that I wanted a new bike so I wasn't buying someone elses problem.  Also, I didn't want to be spending money on upgrades that may or may not be appropriate for the bike.  The 675 has so many of the typical upgrades as stock.  The suspension is incredible.  There is nothing that I need to do to it to get it performing as I want it to.  Is it worth it?  I think so.  Just my thoughts and opinions.
And, Dave, your post is useless without pics  ;)

It seems like you made the right decision. I was complimenting the bike; I'm well aware it isn't $25K. But I'm sure you know that.  :thumb:

Pics to come. Get the title ready  :icon_mrgreen:

Some sweet looking vehicles you got there, but I'm keeping my new toy.  :)  I do highly recommend the Triumph so far and I haven't even gotten to take it (much) above 5K.  More updates will follow.  I haven't seen any of the tank issues that people have spoken about.  I am keeping a keep eye on it.  Some of the white paint is scraping away a little, but not like I have been told is an issue.  I'm in touch with a few guys who have gotten their tanks replaced.  Fortunately there is a forum for discussion, of course.  But, notice, I still lurk here  :)

Two week update.  The odometer is going to flip 400 miles today.  So, I'm still in break in and still annoyed by that.  I can't wait to take this thing to real RPM's.  The patched tire is holding pressure perfectly and performing perfectly.  I am getting more and more used to it in the twisties and am completely blown away with how much this bike loves to lean.  I was chattign with another rider at work and he was impressed with the lack of chicken strips on a bike in break-in.  I did open up the throttle about a week ago getting on to an on ramp with my gf following on her SV650.  I kept it to 5-6K but with the throttle open most of the way.  She could only watch, her bike could not keep up.  And I haven't even hit the power band!
I'm getting less and less impressed with my dealership.  I had the tank photographed last week as it has the paint bubbling issue almost all theAmerican 675's are having.  They sent a warranty claim into Triumph and I haven't heard anything.  I called them yesterday and they still hadn't heard back about what was going to be done.  This is aggravating because other people I have met heard back within a day or so about how they were getting a new tank.  Now, not a serious problem in the short term, butI'm not impressed with the level of service.  Also, my mechanic wants 1/3 of the dealership price for the first service.  I like and trust my mechanic a heck of a lot more.
I'm about to order frame sliders for the bike and will eventually get an integrated taillight.  I want to do away with the fender but need to come up with a good license plate solution and get the integrated tail light to replace the turn signals.  Clear alternatives is making one soon and their products are great.  It's tough to find a nice fender eliminator that doesn't hide your plate deep in the crevices of the bike for a bike with an undertail exhaust.
So, the more I ride it, the more I love it.  Break-in is killing me, but I'm getting closer to gaining some new RPM levels.  The bike only does about 60-65 in 6th gear at 5K.  Not fun to be on the highway like that....  What does the GS do at 5K in 6th?  I forget....

With a 15T 5K is about 55MPH...  I think it's 60 with a 16T.

I'm surprised folks still listen to the dealer break-in... too much out there that goes against it, but don't wait till break-in is over to change your oil...  500 to 1000 miles on the bikes first fill of oil is too much...  I think the original oil should be changed in the first 50 miles.  but anyway...

Nice bike, thanks for the update :thumb:
