Ordering the manual would be the least expensive way to learn by yourself or you can check into a trade school, like American Motorcycle Institute (AMI, Daytona Beach, FL (if it's still there)) or Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI, various locations) and learn everything the shop monkeys know (like I did). You might be able to get a grant for the school (oh, wait you're from Canada, check with your gov't), but you'll have a practicle skill to fall back on. Either way, you can't lose.
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?
