Riding pants for warm weather

I just bought the ICON Timax textile/mesh to wear when I'm not in my full leathers. They're comfy, nice knee protection, but I'm not sure I'd like to slide down the pavement in them, but IMO they are better than jeans. Would I like to wear full leather year round? Absolutley - will I? No, so I'd rather be safe and have something else to ride in (that's why I bought them). Just my .02

I just picked up a pair of FirstGear Fuel pants. Very nice!

Unnamed, where in Chicago are you from? I'm in the near south/west burbs. We should ride sometime when I get back from school. Perhaps try to organize a meet/bbq

That would be awesome. I'm from Oak Park which looks like its only about 15 minutes from you on the Eisenhower. It will probably have to wait until late July for me though, I get home in mid May, but after that I need to buy a bike and my Ridercourse is scheduled for July 21-3. I'll PM you any updates, I'd love to have someone to ride with but its gonna have to wait until I learn to ride
