It's more likely that it was 150cc's bigger, and my sister has trouble with first to second shifting.
No time to wash the bike

...and by 600, you meant 650, right?  8)

haha... that's a good one.

Are you sure you weren't the only one racing, Nick?  I've pulled ahead of a few Vipers and Corvettes on my SV650 in my day... because THEY DIDN'T CARE

...Anyway....on a side note...I actually did race today* I got to ride a 636 today. I took it up on the flats and opened it up...sooo smooth, it has the new downshift power regulator so no rear jumping when you downshift. The suspension is amazing but a bit too tall for me. I did hit the govenor which is much faster than I should have been going. So I took it up to the Vermont border and was heading back on about a 4 mile stretch of flat straights. No traffic except for a Harley and a brand spanking new Aprilia RSV1000R So I pulled up next to the RSV because i wanted to take a better look at it. The guy looks at me and nods and takes off...I stay back...so then he slows down and nods at me again...I figured hey its not my bike what the hell...So I take off he caught me pretty fast, that bike moves but thats to be expected. Then we slowed down and I took the lead. The straight ends with a 15mph right turn. I took it at about 25-30 with no problem. When I straightened back up I look at mirror and the guy is on the other side of the lines. Theres a car coming but they see him and slow waaay down, he's shaking his head and finally gets it back over where it belongs. Now this guy was a ways behind me, he had to have been going about 15-20 into that turn. So he catches back up to me and I nod him over to a parking lot. Turns out hes had the bike two weeks, barely out of break-in (that his dad did - the harley rider) and hes taking his MSF next week. So I gave him a few pointers and told him to ride safe, take it way easy and don't pull a stunt like that again. He was 24 or 25 I dont remember. What a day....

*AJ yelled at me I already got an earful. I was wearing full gear and definitely don't recommend this. I'm sorry I was squidly.

My friend has a stock 2003 SV650S with the same engine (IIRC) as the V-Strom.  From my experience riding with him, I don't believe that he was racing you.
Sorry, I won't answer motorcycle questions anymore.  I'm not f%$king friendly enough for this board.  Ask me at:
