I've tried using a razor blade, the thinnest thing I could think of to wedge in there and pry that cap lookin thing off but it just snaps the blades!  How does one take these bolts off? I've got a rattle in my front end and I've pin pointed it to one or two of these screws near the windshield. But how do I get these things out short of drilling that middle plastic peice out? Or is there something I'm missing?   :dunno_white:

btw - when I say pry, I mean I tried to pry that middle cap looking thing off not the entire screw head itself.

Aww damn it does look like a rivet now that you mention it... I hope it isn't a rivet... Then I'd have to drill it out and go find some black matching rivets.

IT had me confused as well.  Then they said "windshield" and then I read the signature, and it all made sense....

It's on the 'front nose' assembly that houses the windshield and headlight. These rivets aren't anywhere else on the bike except here...

Its a push pin by the looks of it.

Try pushing the inner circle in (in should click in) then pry out the outer part

Something like these but push in.

I usually just cut it off from the back.  They are not reusable, and the dealer will charge you $2.59 per pin for a new one.  You can get them online for half that.  Your local hardware store might have something similar for a bit less.

Yeah, if that's on the fairings, you push the middle in and then pull the whole part out.

If not, I have nary a clue.

Man, I want some wine right now. Some pinot noir...yeah, that sounds nice

melloGS

use a screw driver and pry it and push it through...they are also two holding the lower fairings to the upper fairings under the front.

I know what they are, I was looking at them today, they are on the inside of the F models front fairing below the vior. I was wondering if they are plastic or metal?

I thought they were plastic. Plastic rivets? :dunno_white:
