not sure about this weekend but maybe next. need to get bike back in street clothing...swap bodywork and such.

I think there's a malibu ride this weekend (or friday?) on sportbikers.net where I also hang out.

This weekend in LA should be pretty wet and cold. If anyone is interested in the next weekend after this upcoming weekend, I'm down for a ride. :thumb:

I suspect that Canyon Country is going to have a fair number of riders passing through on the way to Willow Springs, unless the weather is really bad. Though most people going to the MotoClassica use four-wheels to get there, the hard-core canyon-crazies will ride if at all possible. I don't yet know when I'll be able to return to California; I really would like to spend this weekend at Willow, but there simply isn't any time in the schedule...

Damn weather reports change hourly. Looks like it should be pretty clear this weekend. If I have time from moving to my new place, I should be out and about. One great thing about my new place... I'm in Altadena where I'm literally 3 mins away from ACH. :thumb:

Palmdale isn't too far from the ACH, however, I prefer Boquet and Spunky Canyon, Lake Elizabeth... All fun for me.

Thinking about doing Lake Elizabeth to Neenach and back.... usually a pretty empty drive in the car, so I would expect the same on a bike.

check socalsportbikes.info again. there's a ACH ride saturday meeting at the Shell (2/ACH intersection) at 9am. they usually leave around 9:30 though.

and theres a separate ride for malibu from sportbikers.net for malibu. I'll post up a separate thread for that one.

9:30 at the chevron, PCH and sunset. Chevron  is at the corner of PCH and Sunset in Pacific Palisades. The address is 17301 Pacific Coast Highway, Pacific Palisades, CA

tragicimage, hope to see you at one of these rides one day. it would be nice to see another gs500.

brett

How hard/easy is it to keep up on the GS up on ACH? I figure most of the Malibu area roads wouldn't be so bad since they are much tighter and therefore slower, but can the GS keep up on those big sweepers on the Crest?
There are only 10 types of people in this world - those who understand binary and those who don't

pantablo

keep up with what? if you ride your own ride and enjoy it...doesnt matter if you keep up with the guy in front of you. I used to ride ACH all the time on my GS. its easier to get into a groove there since its just one long run. malibu is also easier to regroup because you usually do so after every canyon run or every turn.

PCH from my house, by 9:30?

shaZam!, I'd have to leave at like, 8ish, which means I'd have to be up by 7ish, and that means I'd have to of gone to bed at 10ish....

I dunno, I have no excuse.

well, its not like I DIDN'T ride.

I just rode the Canyons up here.  I'm really looking at maybe trying to do the back way up to Mountain High from the AV.

I think the roads are the N4 and Ft. Tejon Ranch Road....  Its fun as hell to haul through in a car.... I bet its better on a bike.

back before the 2 was closed semipermanently (from rain damage to road several years ago) I used to head up the 2 from la canada, all the way up to big pines hwy, then west to Mile High Cafe for breakfast. I still sometimes ride up angeles forest hwy, to mt emma, to fort tejon, to big pines to the cafe...and back...nice roads although ft tejon is a straight boring 150mph road....or so I've heard....
