Pain to carry yes, pain to switch depends. It's a breeze with my Shoei. I tried changing the shield on my girlfriend's Scorpion and it wasn't nearly as easy. It'd probably get easier with more time, but the Shoei's is simple as can be.

My clip-on sunglasses work just fine on my prescription glasses.

Contacts????

Eh. I'm lazy. I used to wear them pretty regularly, but haven't worn them as much in the last year or so. I agree with Nick. These smoked shields are great. Much better coverage and no distortion either.

It should be noted that the mirror shields get rock chips in them VERY easily. They are also "light smoke" rather than "dark smoke", yet cost twice as much.

When I got the new Scorpion helmet yesterday, the Scorpion rep told me that they're coming out with a faceshield that changes in about 2 months...the Everclear ones, too! I can't wait! w00t!  :thumb:

I have a light smoke visor for my HJC helmet.

It is super easy to change, and nice to ride with.

My only problem now is that when it is nice outside, if i have a tinted visor, i can't flip up the visor and ride (safely) without some sort of eye protection i used to have when i wore sunglasses.

A face shield that changes?  You mean like a polarizing lens?  If so, that's awesome.  I'll buy one for sure.

I thinking about getting a tinted lens for my Shoei, but would want to be able to carry around both.  Has anyone tried storing their shield under their seat, like along the contour of the wheel well liner?

I think most people use their tank bag.  I think under the seat would risk scratching.  Polycarbonate is shatter resistant, but not scratch resistant.

I've thought about carrying the clear visor with me for nighttime rides, but it definitely would be a pain.

My ICON Mainframe helmet is the SIMPLEST helmet to change visors.  I have a BLUE mirror visor that does a great job as a sun shield, and during the night, I have NO problems seeing everything
