[vent]So I can't decide which is worse.  When someone hit my bike and left it for a day a few months ago (still doing repairs), or when I had it in a full spot last night and someone either hit it or just decided to move it AND LEAN IT AGAINST A CONCRETE POLE!  The kickstand was up and it was just precariously perched against the pole.

I hate people.[/vent]

3imo

Yeah.  us people can suck sometimes.

I parked at walmart in the yellow lines way up front.   came out 15 minutes later and bike was gone  :o

I was freakin out. I walked into walmart to ask if they had any rent a cops or security, and the welcome lady said she saw a guy (walmart employee) move it because "your not supposed to park there"

I found it out by the garden center, unscathed. I went to  Buddha Loves You out the manager and was promptly escorted out of walmart by security.  Aparently the parking lot is walmat "private" property and they have the right to move any vehicle. They said I was lucky it wasn't towed.

I wonder how legal that was.

Not the brightest crayon in the box, but I can still be seen from a distance.  ;P

Actually the parking lots are private property.  I was in an accident a few years ago at a bank.  A lady rear ended my car when the cops came he said he could not give her a citation becaues it was private property.  He did make a report and her insurance fixed my car tho.

Oh I agree I think people should not touch anything that does not belong to them without the owners consent.  Maybe run some wires so that when you park your bike it will shock anybody who touches it.

You mean where it says in big yellow letters, "NO PARKING" or "FIRE LANE"?  ;)

Nobody should have touched your stuff, but you probably shouldn't have parked there.  Seems like an easy one to avoid.  :dunno_white:

those lines aren't marked at all.  I always see bikes parked there.  almost anytime you go to a walmart you'll see a bike parked on those yellow lines.

they are at the top of the parking lanes next to the cars. I wasn't blocking anyone.  That doesn't make it right but it would take less time and energy to walk into walmart and ask for the driver of the yellow suzuki over the PA, than it would to move the bike 100yards.

Aside from being the respectful thing to do. Anyone touching a bike that doesn't belong to them is setting themselves up for an ass whoopin.

I see the bikes parked next to shops all the time, but I'm too chicken to do so myself, mostly because of the danger of someone trying to move him. I wish there was a zapper that would shock anyone who touched bikes (or anything else) that didn't belong to 'em...  :nono:

Point taken.  That does suck if you got singled out.  I'd be ticked too.

heres an Idea.

get a tazer, rewire it to cycle a buz every second or so if the bike is turned on without the secret kill switch, and rigg it in the bike seat in the crotch area.

then leave your key in the ignition and get a camera  :icon_twisted:

My attitude is in serious need of readjustment, and I'm ok with that.

wouldn't work at all. aside from shorting out your bike, it would not provide a shock even in the best of circumstances.

nah you need to up the voltage a bit to give a person a nice shock... with a flyback transformer from an old TV and transistor you can make a multi-kilovolt powersupply that will run on 12v DC.
