I have the opportunity to get a 2002 GS500 with 1200 miles on it, perfect condition for $3800.  Does this seem a little to high for this bike?  Thanks

that does seem high, u coulld get a 05f for that price. i would say its worth about $2000 -$2500

$2500...  $3000 is you REALLY REALLY MUST have it.

But isn't a new one around $5000 plus?

I'm getting my 06 GS500F for $4700 out the door, they do MSRP for over $5k though.

$3800 for an 02 is high, low mileage and "perfect" condition" or not.

BTW, once it has been driven it is no longer "perfect". It will have already begun to wear slightly. It should have already had its first service.

But there is no reason you can't try and talk them down. Hell, the Kelly Blue Book values it at $1665 in "Good" trade in condition. Even retail it is only listed at $2475 from a dealer. Of course KBB is not the definite source, but it gives you a basic idea of how high that price is.

I'd offer $2200.

I'm with Phaed, $2200-$2400 tops.  Also, find out why the mileage is so low; has it been sitting?  Will it need work as a result?
