Ok I have a DJ Kit installed. I was having trouble on the top end like the bike didn't want to open up and I was having trouble with a "flat spot" when rolling off the throttle about 1/2-3/4 throttle around 6k rpm. I pulled a plug and it looked a little bit lean so I went ahead and went up to the DJ132 main jets. So now the bike starts, idles and accelerates great. Top end issue appears to be resolved since changing the mains. The problem is if cruising around 65 mph 1/2-3/4 throttle under load and rolling off the throttle, I get an annoying dead spot then it picks back up.  I am assuming this is the needle position causing this????? If so does it sound rich or lean?????? Does anybody else on this board with a 04 and newer hav a DJ kit installed and knows what there settings are at????

Tough one to call since I have no experience with the DJ kit.  I'd say, yes, shim up the needle.

Yeah, unfortunately looks like I'll be pulling the carbs off again and adjusting the needle clip. I am going to try and restrict the air filter first to make sure it is lean and not rich. I bought the dynojet kit because i installed one on a 4-wheeler about 5 years ago and was spot on, no guess work, ran like a champ. And now this kit.............

This damn thing. I installed the restrictor into the K&N and it made it worse while riding. So that is telling me it is very rich. I stop at a light and the bike dies. It was flooded, after 5 minutes I get it started and come home, remove the restrictor, but the bike still won't idle and now I have gas dripping through the air box. I am about ready to just put the stock stuff back in and go up a few sizes on the main's a size on the pilot and shim the needle. It is an 05 and suggestions on what I should run???????????   K&N filter and soon to be Laser full system.

No I didn't have to drill anything except the fuel mixture screw plug. I just don't understand. It has atleast started and idled fine now it won't even idle. All I did was install the k&n restrictor and took it back out and now this?WTF???? Man I am so pissed with this process. My pipe will be here tuesday or wednesday and I can't get the damn thing to run.  :dunno_white:

Dude, you can't fault the Dynojet kit if you fail to follow the basic instructions. :icon_rolleyes:    The kit comes with a pair of MJ sizes and the DJ132 is strictly for Stage-3 apps.  If you have an airbox--and you do--you're at Stage-1 and should not be using Stage-3 jets.  A little patience and it should all work out fine.

LOL. I was actually following what dynojet tech support told me to do. I Finally got my Laser Exhaust installed and it still wouldn't idle on it's own and was just running so rich that it would smoke. I took the carbs back off replaced all the DynoJet kit except the mains, I dropped them back to the DJ128's which should be comparable to mikuni 135's. I shimmed the stock needle's .5mm put the 17.5 pilots back in and turned the mixture screws out 3 turns from bottom. The good news is it started right up and idled fine. The bad news is it has been raining so I haven't been able to try it out on the road.
