Chain adjustment is pretty easy, huh?  A lot easier than it sounds.

I noticed 70's Cam Guy wearing rubber gloves.  I assumed the gloves are needed for those that decided to handle Scratch's rear wheel.

Look at that gunk!

Quote from: Jake D on May 22, 2006, 07:54:34 AMWhat sort of pace did you guys keep?
scratch was the leader, so he can answer that...for him, I think it was moderate...for me, his pace was definitely very brisk. My pace was more C- group.
I stuck to the Pace by Nick Ienatch.  Posted speed limit for pretty much the whole road is 35mph, I hovered around 45, with a couple excursions to 50.  When we got to the twisty downhill stuff, I backed down to 35-40.  Going back up the road was 40ish until I caught up to a white '90's Toyota Corolla, which didn't do too bad, about 35mph ave.

Quote from: Jake D on May 22, 2006, 07:54:34 AMWhat was the temperature that day?
About 75 degrees in the sun (the sun was intense!) and fairly cool in the shade (60-65-ish?)...
I think it was more like 70, because I got cold on the ride.

Quote from: Jake D on May 22, 2006, 07:54:34 AMWhat is the speed limit on the twisties you were on?
The road is posted 35mph, but none of the turns are posted (would be yellow signs).
The motorcycle is no longer the hobby, the skill has become the hobby.

Power does not compare to skill.  What good is power without the skill to use it?

Usually scratch's beauty is so clean you can eat off of her!  ;)  This is the ONLY time I've ever seen his girl dirty!  :icon_twisted:

We dug a hole in the backyard that we can dump anything chemical....easy to get rid of stuff (and bodies!) that way!*  :thumb:

*San Jose has its own recycling program. Our recycling "trash" trucks pick up used motor oil and oil filters!  :icon_lol:

You sure caught me in the odd positions

It seemed like my speedometer was hovering around 45-50 a lot of the way.  In the bumpy areas it was more conservative

I suppose the original idea was that I was going to change the oil but scratch sorta took over and I didn't really push the issue  :icon_mrgreen:

When scratch gets busy on a bike, the rest of the world disappears. I just get out of his way. You did the right thing!  ;) :thumb: :icon_mrgreen:

Thank you for the warm welcome to the community Pandy and all!

And thanks loads to Scratch for the brake switch and clutch adjustments which I was not smart enough to figure out on my own :).  I look forward to actually riding with all of you sometime soon :).

Every zero you add to the tolerance adds a zero to the price.

If the product "fails" will the product liability insurance pay for the "failure" until it turns 18?

:)  Looks like it was a great time.

But why is it that in all the pictures, Scratch is the only one working?  I thought this was an opportunity to learn from a master.

Did anyone else get their hands dirty?  (Pandy doesn't count as she was the photographer.)
