Hi everyone,
I just changed my rear tire after getting a hole in it. Iv'e been done for afew week now and have been ridding but lately iv'e noties that when I lean over to turn the front of the bike feel alittle heavy and slugesh. Im not sure if I adjusted the chain tintioner right, I have about 2" of play in my chain. Iv'e been reading that 3/5 or 1.8 is right.

What's the tire pressure?  The front tire probably needs air.  Stock pressure is 33psi.

Drive chain tension/slack is supposed to be .8 to 1.2 inches, error to the loose side.

I'm assuming you went with stock tire size...  (If not, that might be part of the problem)

Chain tension is fine at 2" (maybe a little loose, but would only really add jerkiness to acc/dec).

It's gotta be pressure.

yea check the  the tires make sure there BOTH  at what there supsoe to be at . i tend to like my chains on the tighter side

I got a cheeper rear tire then the  stock tire but It's the stock size 130/70/17. I will check the air persure as soon as Im done posting. I check my chain today again and I was wrong it's 1" and a half.

ohh so you have two diffrent brands on it ? yea ... i'm not sure if that would make a diffrence then but i'm sure it might .

well I check the tire presure and it at 30 so Im pretty sure that fine. That intresting if it because I have two diffent brands of tire. It just feel like the bike fall into the turn (like when your trying to lean it over when you turn the bike will turn the handle bars even if your trying to keep them strate) that the best I can explan it.

you did put another by-ply on it right ?

what is thast? I put everything back on that I took off.

He means a bias ply tire. You aren't mixing radial and bias ply, are you?

The front I have the stock Bridgestone battlay B?Tand the rear new tire is a Kenda cruiser S/T, I feel you might have a point about the tire

Don't really think that tire brand mix should cause any handling problems.  Those Kenda tires are decent enough, I'd place them somewhere between the old OE Excedra and the newer OE BT45 tires in handling.

I put a Kenda 671 on the rear of a CM400 with a Dunlop F11 front and my 02 GS500 came with a Kenda 657 with a OE Excedra front.  Put 5000 miles of all kinds of riding on the GS with that combo and never noticed any odd handling quirks from the mix.

The 30 psi in the front is not enough though, try at least 34 psi front and 36 rear and see how it feels.  Make sure you have the rear wheel aligned properly since the tire change.
