so i've been dreaming of the past when all i used to do was play halflife firearms mod and counterstrike. all day long.  well  remember when steam came out? my computer couldnt handle all that especially with my measley 56k modem, so my career came to a screeching hault.  well i've been thinking lately, damn i miss fraggin people left and right.  i want to get back into it.  i have a copy of HL2 and HL1.  what all do i need to play online?  i wanna play counterstrike and firearms (if its still around).

If you have HL2, you should have access to Counterstike Source through Steam.  it's the same game as it always was.  Blast away.

I play with my clan in the CAL-O Source division.  A lot of diehard CS 1.6 players don't like CS:Source but I don't mind it at all.  Like the other guy said if you have a retail copy of HL2 you have a valid license for CS:S.  Just load up Steam, make an account if you haven't already, and download the latest version of CS.  It's a fun game; very frustrating and infuriating sometimes but also very rewarding when you do well.

Yeah Halflife2 is nuts, I'm addicted to a CS:Source MOD called the "Surf Mod" - it's great.
