So...  It looks like this weekend is gonna suck again...  But, from what the long forcast says, Monday should be dry  "Partly cloudy. Highs in the 60s."  We'll see if it actually stays that way...

Anyone else have Monday off and not already have plans?

Jeppy

DUDE! I wish I would have seen this one coming. I was offered 5x's my hourly to show up for work. I could not pass up the offer for a 5 hour shift and the boss will pay me for 8 hours and at 5x's my hourly rate of pay.
I'm so bummed.......I can't go

NightRyder

heh.. I've got to work too. The one of two holidays out of the year I have to work.. though I only get 1.5x .. whats with this 5x stuff.. where do I sign up for that deal?

I would definitelly be up for it, if my gs was back in one piece in time.
Right now I am waiting for a package from mrcycle with some things to finish carb job. I am also in the process of converting petcock to a manual shut off, but that is going well and should be over soon. Oh, and I need to replace couple valve shims, but am still dependant on that package, because there is a shim tool in there. So, if I will get the stuff in a mail, I think I should be able to put everything back together and will be in for the Monday ride.

Well, my carb bits arrived, but shim tool won't be here until Wednesday. And I really would rather not to ride the bike until I replace shims, becasue one is very tight.
I could remove cam bolts and get to shims that way, but somewhat nervous of doing that, as I have never done that. If somebody in Seattle area happen to have a valve shim tool and is willing to lend it, that would be great. Otherwise, I don't think I'd make it for the Monday ride.

Aw, just use two screwdrivers. :) One to push the valve down, one to pop out the shim. It is a bit harder I would think (I haven't used the special tool..) and takes some dexterity, but will work. A helping hand is always nice too.

Well, if it's just a couple of us (My newb friend with the SVS will probably come along too) , I might just show up 2up...  (I'm a newb rider 2up).

Or would that be too boring?

eh, I don't care. I haven't ridden in quite a while now, and won't be riding for the next couple days (damn weather). So any time on the bike would be welcome.

I can invite my newb friend with a naked sv650 along too. :)

D'oh.  Count me out, too.  I'll be camping over the weekend.

erm.. So? How did it go? Where did you go? Who showed up? How many showed up? Anyone crash and burn? Get any tickets? Set any land speed records? Details!

If you want to try your hand at planning another one of these, I'm free the last weekend this month. With 3 weeks of advanced planning, maybe you can get together a bunch of us.. You do seem to be the Seattle area planning guy, the 3 Seattle threads were all started by you. (Even if one was a band plug. That's ok, we forgive you.)

RVertigo texted me at about noon saying he just woke up and asked if I still wanted to go riding (ironic because he woke me up with the text message). My girl was coming over in a few hours, so I declined. I don't know if he went riding with anyone else.

I did, however, ride my bike to the store. I got shaving cream and bread. It was an exciting time.

My SVS-Newb friend and I went on the same ride Syphon, Bluebellylint, and I went on last time...

It was a little chiily, but it was fun.  I failed one corner and ended up about a foot on the wrong side of the road.    :nono:   On the Highway I went about 95 (not a record or anything)...  Ate lots of bugs and cottonwood puffs...

Nothing BAD happened.   :icon_mrgreen:

Then we went to my sister's house and installed frame sliders on the SVS.

Anyone else can feel free to plan something...  (hint hint)...  I just do I 'cause no one else does.  :icon_razz:  (I was thinking about a BBQ one of these times)...

Next Saturday (June 3rd) Aurora Suzuki is having an open house...  I'll prolly be there since the weather forcast calls for RAIN!   :dunno_white:
