Ok, maybe this is a dumb question, I don't know.  Is there any reason this would/would't work, if I came up with a way to mount it, and presumably some sort of adapter flange.  I'm guessing I'd have to rejet.  (ok, so I'm throwing around words I only barely understand - are there some fundamental exhaust principles I am missing here?).  I really haven't taken too close a look at how it's mounted there.  I just think it would look cool...

GSX-R exhausts have a butterfly valve built in, you would need to at least bypass that.  Not to mention they run with two or three cats crammed under the frame, if I remember right.

Kasumi

It looks gorgeous with the gsx-r exhaust on there. Much better than the 1000 looks with the similar exhaust.
Custom Kawasaki ZXR 400

WREX

does look good, but I'd guess that'd be real loud on the gs.

wonder what the GS would look like with the 1000 pipe on there...   :cookoo:

spoke to the bike shop today - 2 week wait for my remus..!!!!.... ARGH!!!!! :2guns: :2guns: :2guns:

from my latest reading, the GSXR 600 / 750 has some of its muffler components under the bike as well which haven't been included in the cut and paste job above.

i dont know, i havent rejeted it. but i do know i coudl use it. i plan to get a stage 2 jet kit. i also have a drop in K&N.

but after seeing the other muffler i would like to get that, it looks better, even looks as if it would tuck better to the bike. i want to lean more but cant right now.

The shorty look does look sweet. :thumb:
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof, is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools....

Thanks to advances in automation, Nike shoes will be made by robots. Unfortunately, the robots will be made by children in Malaysia.

I'm sure on the GSXR there is another part of this exhaust system that hangs under the bike as well?

And it does have buttterfly valves to change the back pressure at different revs.

Ie, might not be a simple conversion.

rangerbrown

i had the valve as well, i just cut it out

just traded my gs for the gsxr 600 Ill take a look and see whats underneath

pictures of the exhast are in members rides page 19

schwabdl

yes and what looks like a buterfly valve

galahs

Yep.

Maybe aftermarket exhaust can make a similar styled slip on.  :thumb:

This exhaust is awsome. Designed to ensure the centre of gravity is low on the bike, the muffler design is aerodynamically shaped as is the exhaust output.

The exhaust gasses look as if the join the bikes airflow (rather than distrupt it) reducing drag  :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:
