While the board was down I purchased a Radiantz Programable LED Brake Modulator/Strobe, and installed it. I highly recommend it!http://www.customdynamics.com/radiantz_led_brake_light_strobe.htm . It's very easy to change the settings to how you want it to flash the lights. You have to have LED brake lights for this, but you can gets LED cluster lights that just go in like a regular bulb. Didn't take me too long to install, but I went to the trouble of putting little connectors on the wires so I could remove it completely without having to reconnect wires...just plug them back together for stock. Also, make sure you re-attach the seat release BEFORE you put your seat back on! It is not on my top 5 fun things to do list!

I've also got a headlight modulator on order http://www.customdynamics.com/kisan_pathblazer_headlight_modulator.htm. It's the P115W. They say all you have to do is plug it in to the back of your headlight and plug the other plug from the bike to the back of this unit, then hook up the light sensor and that's it.  No wire splicing. So we'll see if it's like they say.

And thank you onlypastrana and alphafire for the help while the board was down!

You were right about getting the seat off when it was locked and the release not attached. Take off the undertail, or let it hang. Then reach up there and loosen the nuts on the seat side of the latch. (not as easy as it sounds).

Yes! I'm glad you got it off finally.

Yeah, definitely a difficult thing to pull off, I'd imagine. Did you end up using the wiggle end on a bunch of socket extensions? Also, be glad you have the '01+ body work, as the old style needed the tail plastics to be taken off to get the under tail out, IIRC.

I actually found it easier to get a regular old open end box wrench up there. The hard part was figuring out the size, i think it was a 10mm...or maybe it was 11mm....I could only turn it the littlest amount at a time and it was hard to get the wrench on the nut good enough to turn the it without it slipping off.

Well, I just got my kisan headlight modulator and installed it in about 2 minutes. Spendy, but very easy to install!

I did the whole seat latch mistake too.  my solution was a wire hanger cut and bent to a small L shape at the tip.  worked great.
I just lifted the seat a bit and stuck it in the little hole and pulled.
Not the brightest crayon in the box, but I can still be seen from a distance.  ;P

What the heck is that thing that looks like coaxial cable?  Is that the light sensor? Also, I have an '04 F, and it looks like there's plenty of space to plug in that module.  Did you run into any clearance issues?

TIA,

No clearance issues, hardest part was zip tying the light sensor to the brake line. Which wasn't hard at all. You can put it where ever you want.
