what does it mean? 

So I know my carbs need removing/rebuilding coz' the bike is running quite badly at the moment.

But i am curious, after the bike has warmed fully if I pull the choke on and don't give it any throttle the bike stalls immediately; if I do give it throttle it runs really rough. Does this just mean that the choke being on makes the mixture so rich it can't run or is it indicating something a little more than this.

The carbs are getting there much needed work over the weekend and i'm hoping all my problems will disappear.

Glad you posted this question. I just noticed yesterday, for the first time i forgot to shut my choke off after ridding for a few mins, and when i stoped it stalled.  On my next stop, i tested starting up the bike with full choke on after it was totally warmed up and it wouldnt idle.  I then started it with no choke, it started up like normal... then i put the choke on fully and it stalled out.

My bike is an 05 with only 2k miles, so im assuming full choke on a warm bike making it stall is a typical thing.  Anyone want to ring in and verify that?

Normal behavior - the choke enrichens the mixture for cold operation.  When the engine is warm it will be too rich and stall.

This is not an indication of any type of problem.
