I'm still planning to go down on June 9th through 11th, and my roommate will be along as well.  We're just trying to figure out how to cram enough camping gear for two people onto two supersport motorcycles (CBR600RR and R6)

heh the dragon is friggin awesome. i rode it on my sporty didnt have to downshift once.  but on weekends you gotta deal with the squidly types on the rockets though lol

So we went from 10 people to 2?!? That is just sad. Are any Alabama people still going? If so we need to start making definate plans here soon. I'm getting my bike and gear ready this week.

I officially plan to be there.  If any of you Albamians want to meet up somewhere, let me know.  I'll be caging it though.  I don't have the time to get all of the saddlebags, etc. that I'd need to carry the necessary crap, and I don't have the inclination to ride that far.  My back would never forgive me.

I'll be camping in the GSMNP.  I was checking though, and they don't have showers.  Any ideas on where to get one?  4 days of riding with no shower is not a good combination....

Edit: nevermind about the showers.  They said facilities are available in surrounding communities, and they can direct you to them at the ranger station.

i will be staying at the Deals Gap Motorcycle Resort. how ever i am not sure i will be able to make the june trip. but.. if the cbr is sold for good on tues then i will have the dough to do it. but time will tell...

ooo any one have a valve checking set they can bring? if you have shims and tool that would b e even better. i realy need to check the valves and if you have done it before i would really love for you to help me.

i figure its worth a few beers any way.

I dont have any saddle bags, But im shure i can wing If you want to meet. Im not shure if you'll have room but if you do i was wondering if I  Can cram my gear in your traler/cage. It would just make the trip that much easier.

I just got back today from up there and I crashed along with about 20 others due to oil on the road.
3 riders were killed during the weekend.
I had fun though.
Don't know if I can make it, still busted up, and looks like no one really knows if they're going.
If I go it will be at the last min.
Maybe by then people can nail down their plans.

bike is sold for good (cbr) so.. looks like i will be coming. now what to tell the rents.  i will button up the fairing after the oil change this weekend, get the tags back on it. and then pack my camping gear.

tent, chair, cooler, cam, video cam, tools, sleeping bag, pillow, cloths. what else anyone?

WELL, I'M A DOUCHEBAG! I don't know if I will be able to make it to the weekend. My bike is out cold with starting problems, and unless my friend will let me ride his ninja 250 while we're up there, I won't be coming. I've already got the days off and everything.
