Then have her sign it over to you, unless you are under 18 or something???

porsche4786

no, just lazy. i'm 20, so that's not an issue. doesn't really matter. they aren't the kind of parents that would sell my car or anything.

Ya but still what if you wanted to use it as collateral or something.  My parents signed everything over to me once I turned 18.

I don't know how it works "out there", but I know a lot of people your age (especially guys) keep their car titled/registered to their parents for insurance reasons. For example, a 20 year old guy with a certain car might have to pay $2000 a year, where if it is in the parents name, the insurance is only $300 (just an example). In NY anyway, the car has to be registered to the insured. So it is economical. I don't know many 20 year olds that can afford high insurance premiums. The money is often better applied to things like college tuition and whatnot  :thumb:
Richard died in a motorcycle accident that was at no fault of his own.  We lost a good friend and good member of this board.  Though Rich may be gone, his legacy will live on here.

If it were in my name it wouldn't matter, same rates. I'm on my parents plan though, that's that really helps. When I move out I will probably have them sign it over. My motorcycle is actually registered to myself and my dad.

...shaZam!...

Garage...there's only room for the project bikes.  At the moment a 1983 400 Maxim, CB900 and EX500.  The rest of the 22X30 flooring is fiilled with crap.

In the driveway I have 1987 Turbo II RX-7 and a 1979 Supra.  Thena bunch of crap including a trailer I'm using to gather up crap to make it disapear.  I leave enough room in the drive for another car to park.

In the yard is a ford F150 and a BMW 328I (parked under trees...because it's 4 million degrees outside and they stay cooler there).

On the sidewalk I have my TL1000S and a customer's TL1000S (doing an SSSA swap on it).

it's being parted out...was nothing special.  It was a huge disapointment.  I had a really badass SE...bright red with a mild street-port block, limited slip rear, tien suspension, 15" koenigs (15lbs!) and composite windows and hatch.  Weighed a whopping 2800lbs wet and put down 154rwhp.  It was crazy fast for what it was...but it got shaZam! for traction in the rain and nose-dived into a red Blazer...:(

I've had 5 RX-7's in all...been disapointed every time...:(...still love them for some reason...

Considering *MY* is a relative term (thanks for the clarification, AJ!)...at my parent's house:

garage:
2006 GS500F (mine..) :thumb:
2007 BMW 530xi (dad's -actually just got it today)

driveway:
1999 Mazda Millenia (mine when it sucks out)
2003 Jag X-type (mom's)
a couple schwinns (brother's and sister's)

I don't hold title to anything but the bike...woohoo...that means I don't have to pay for registration!  I think he's going to transfer the Millenia to my name so I can have the priviledge of paying a billion dollars in insurance. :thumb:

How do you like these bikes? i like the Speed Four as a smaller alternative to the Speed Triple (doesn't look quite as cool, IMO tho)...and i've got my eyes on the NT650 as a potential next bike (i actually searched "Honda Hawk" on here yesterday and was reading all the threads :))
