I was looking at the jordan gloves...anyone have an opinion on them?

JRocker

well thanks....what gloves would you recommend?

ajgs500

Olympia, alpinestars, AGV sport, tourmaster, Icon but not so much, Shift, or Spidi

Alpinestars SP1 are pretty sweet.

Get ALL LEATHER gloves (not ones with cloth or mesh)...  Double layers on "important areas."  And make sure they fit well.   :thumb:

the all leather gloves i tried on didnt feel as comfortable, im assuming they need to break in.  is it better for them to be tighter or looser i think i could go either medium or large.

Thanks for all the replys guys

JRocker

also is the gauntlet syle that much better protection wise?

Comfort vs Safety...  Your choice...

It's a toss-up on the size...  I went a size down on one pair and they stretched out (after some time... and pain)...  On another pair, I went bigger and they shrank a little...

I would say to find the tightest pair that doesn't kill you...  If it's too tight, your hands are going to hurt like hell (leather shrinks while wet and stretches back out when dry (At least that's how it feels to me)).

Personally I'd rather have them be a little tight, rather than fold up under my palm on the throttle.

Gauntlet vs shorty?  You know... I've heard people say gauntlets are safer...  But, every time I crashed my bicycle, fell down a flight of stairs, fell UP a flight of stairs, tripped and fell on the sidewalk/my driveway/hiking trail, etc, etc...  It was my palms that were chewed up...  My wrists were fine.  It might be different if you're on your back though.   :dunno_white:

held could be the best gloves on the market.  you'll thank me if you end up "using" them or after 5 years when they have outlasted every other pair on the market.

What are you using them for?

I have a pair of Alpinestars... SMX-6 I think. They aren't full leather or gaunlet style but for riding to class and the store I think they are well suited.
New to motorcycles.... old fart with Turbo Hondas. :)

But, they're also one of the most expensive.   :icon_confused:

I've been drooling on the "Ninjas" for a while now...

I crash tested some shorty (non-gauntlet type) gloves.

There was a scuff about the size of a quareter on my left palm.  My wrist was untouched and covered by a jacket.

I spent most of the crash test on my head, arm, and shoulder, sliding.  The hand only seems to have touched down for a second.

They were Icon Puruist gloves and I really like them.  I wish they were a little bigger.  They are XL's, but I find myself tugging at the fingers at stop lights.

I have the Ti max icon's ...
Fit good ... look good and OK against weather too ...
The gripe is ... the damn rivets are so poor that they will come off if you fiddle them with finger nails ... For over $100 they could put in some better rivets IMHO.
Cool.

Here's why you should wear all leather gloves: http://gstwins.com/gsboard/index.php?topic=20659.0

Not riding the Gap just yet. I'm in Georgia right now with my father visiting one of his friends. I'm heading to dgyver's tonight to have him help me with my wheel swap (need the brake torque arm bent) and then back to Georgia for the night. We head up to The Gap tomorrow.
