I've seen a race between a super-sport bike and a sports car on a track with two PROs piloting each...  The bike was ahead on every straight away.  The car was ahead in every corner.  Cars have four wheels, which means they have WAY more traction and they can slide through corners...

The contact patch on a bike is only about this wide:  |-----------------------------------------------------------------------|  (YMMV)


Bikes can slide through corners (See SuperMotoX), but your control is FAR greater when sliding a car...

But, none of this matters...





Riding a bike is FRIGGEN' SWEET!!!  So, who gives a crap which can corner faster?

Stock for stock a bike will win, but there are more than a few cars out there that will keep up and spank bikes from a stop or roll.  There not close to stock engine wise but are somewhat street legal, as street legal as a bike with a slipon or full race exhaust.

Short video, would be better but the car crosses the center line (slight steering problem) and the bike goes down.  Oh the Busa was on N2O and the car is street driven.

The whole argument of which is faster or has more control is kind of silly.  I don't think anyone here rides a bike because it's faster or has more control.  We ride because it's fun.

A thoroughbred racehorse will beat any person in a race, but we don't give up running.
A motorcycle will beat any racehorse in a race, but we don't give up horse riding.

It is stupid...  It doesn't matter that cars can corner faster than bikes...  About 2% of drivers drive them that way.

Bikes are better at everything else...  Especially looking cool...  And parking (unless you're on a really steep hill).

And also bikers make better motorists because they are always aware, always looking and it takes much more skill and concentration to ride and ride safe.

If we wanted to be faster we would have gotten Hayabusas and turbo kits. then we'd roll like...

Granted, if performance was the ONLY reason I ride then yeah.
But where can you buy a car capable of 0-60 in under 10 seconds for less than $10k unmodified? 
Get 50 mpg+? 
Have chicks asking you for a phone number at the local coffee shop? 

Plus people wave at you for no more reason than that you're riding...
