I just bought a new GS500F and already want to put the V&H exhaust on it from exoticsprotbike.com. I was wondering if anyone knows if the carbs have changed since 2000 or earlier, if not then I would have no problem with their jet kit to go with it, right?.  Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Kerry

The carbs most definitely changed in 2001.  Went from 2 jets to 3 (entirely different) jets, etc.

You can order your jet's from www.sudco.com for about $12.00 at least thats what it cost me last your. . . install the jets yourself. . how to's on this site are great .. did mine and have not had any problems  ( first  time I have ever worked on a bike )

Ok. Does anybody know the part numbers to order pilots and mains for an 05 F model ??? I am assuming I need  #20 pilots and either 132.5 or 135 mains. I am about to give up on my Dynojet kit   Tech support tells me it will work with a filter and exhaust upgrade, but I feel like I'm at 90-95% of how the bike should run. I get a high rpm stumble between 10k and 10,500 rpm that  I never got before and I get a dead spot if I roll off the throttle and roll back on it. I have adjusted my floats, changed my mains and needle clips a size each way. I want to just run mikuni jets and go up a size or so. Help me  :cookoo:  :dunno_white:

Yeah i've heard that the Dynojet kits are no chop for the latest GS's.... the Suzuki shop i bought my bike from reckon they drill out the originals till they get them spot on - kinda "old school" if you ask me... but they reckon it works the best out of anything - just can't justify the $600 to do it...

Wouldn't count on it Nick most people that have GS's do their own work.  And look what happend to another member when he asked about rejetting they told him to leave the jets alone that it wasn't worth it.  Rejetting my bike took less than an hour doing it my first time.

You could do that they might answer you.  But if you really want to get the best performance out of your bike , take it and have it dyno tuned ( make sure it has air / fuel senor ) they should be able to get it perfect for you.  Not sure if it's worht the cost unless you are a perfectionist and want all your machines running perfectly.
