First, those of you with long hair (ladies?)... What do you do with your hair when you ride? I have fairly long hair, for a dude, the back of it just barely brushes my shoulders, the front is almost to my chin. When I put the helmet on, half the time, the hair just gets in my eyes, and I have to take the helmet off, readjust, and put it back on. Also, the hair tends to bunch up, and make it very difficult to put my glasses on, as the hair catches the frames, instead of letting them slide behind my ears. (I'm too cheap for contacts, and too broke for lasik)

Finally, anyone else with facial piercings? My tragus is fine, the helmet's nowhere near it.. but my eyebrow, I have to remember to take out, otherwise I will rip a hole in my own face (I have pointy tips on it right now).. I'm wondering if I can switch to round tips, and avoid the snagging, cuz putting it in/out and carrying such a small thing are kind of a pain in my ass.

Kalee sticks her hair in her jacket...when mine was long I tied it in a pony-tail type thing and it did fine.

Ummm I just kinda hold my head back at an angle when I put my helmet on.  This works pretty welll for me.  I did have to take out my earings(small hoops) cause those hurt me all squished up in my helmet.

I braid my hair (but you'd probably feel kinda funny doing that, and my hair's to my waist  ). Pony tail or tuck into your jacket. If I'm too lazy to braid, I clip it back and put my jacket over. To keep the strays from my face, I do what aj does: I sort of lean my head back and slide the back of my helmet up my forehead...then I tuck any other strays in around the opening. My hoop earrings are fine, and I'm not one of dem crazy youth who pierces everything and puts bones in the piercings! (j/k  ).

I've ALWAYS had trouble keeping it out of my eyes until I found something that took care of the problem perfectly. A Do-Wrap. I've tried so many different head wraps and this is by far the best I've ever used. Buy a couple and clean them periodically. Another great thing about them is they keep your helmet very clean and unsmelly.

I couldn't handle it anymore and got a hair cut...it changed my whole image

You hippies need to get a haircut & take all that metal out of your faces.  I just don't know about young ppl these days, wanting pierce every bit of flesh & grow their hair long like girls. The sooner they bring back national service the better I say.

Funny you say national service...  there is a bill that has been floating around congress the past couple of years that requires 2years of military/civil service(peace corps) of all men and women ages 18-42.

I use a bandanna tied into a Du-rag when I'm not to lazy.  I start by putting my hair into a pony tail (usual style), tie the rag on and slide my band down a little in my hair.  The only thing I hate is that everytime I take my helmet off it pulls the rag off with it, but usually I can slip it back on without re-tieing it.  Another thing I have found is that a standard bandanna is a little to small for my head so eventually when I get off my lazy ass I will make one larger.

Wife use's scoungee's ? ( spelling not sure ) those cloth elastic thingies that you can make ponytails with.  .. anyway she puts her hair in a ponytail with one of those.  As for glasses she we both have modular helmets so np there ( modulars are alot eaiser to get off and on )

 I braid my hair, it's the only thing that works for me. If I do a ponytail, it always ends up flying out behind me and tangling. As it is, the last inch below where the braid is elasticed still gets tangled.

Glasses are a pain... I have to take glasses off, put on helmet, then slide the glasses in, and it has to be just right or else they pinch, so I spend a while fiddling to make sure it's just right before setting off on a longer ride.

My boyfriend, who also wears glasses, has one of those helmets where the jaw flips up, which helps for the glasses, but he finds it loud on the highway because the air gets in the hinge, so he's going to buy a regular full-face for longer rides and just deal with the glasses problem.

I braid too, when I have time, otherwise I just put it in a ponytail and let it tangle...the ponytail is also annoying cause if it isnt low enough it hurts when you put the helmet on...I usually wear sunglasses which are a pain..but hopefully the new tinted visor will get rid of that..

I have reasonably long hair, about shoulder length on the back and fringe comes down to chin. Its not meant to but i have an emo hair cut and can't be arsed to go to the hair dressers lol. Anywhos i have found a perfect solution. A balaclava. Yea i know your thinking it's not winter but this one is very very very thin, just enough to make my helemet slide on and off easy peasy and holds my hair back. All i do is put it on then pull the top into position and push my fringe to whereever it natrually falls, i just push it under the balaclava on the same side. As for the back the balaclava holds it down into my jacket. It works a treat. You put your jacket on afterwars and your sorted. It holds the hair out of your face, makes the helemt fit better and make it easier to take on and off and stops nasty flies smacking you in the throat. It is very thin, wind will still pass through it to keep you cool.

My hair goes down to my butt.  I don't wear head wraps.  I usually just pull it all back and put it in a pony tail with three rubber bands (one on the top, middle and end of the pony tail).  I don't have problems with it getting in my face or tangling.  When I am very lazy, I just throw my jacket over it.  Never had problems with my glasses but I got contacts.

1st:  Loose the pageboy look...  It's 2006, not 1996 or 1796.  

2nd:  You didn't try your helmet on before you bought it?  Maybe try to find some frames that fit better under the helmet.

3rd:  Switch the eyebrow ring to a round ball or get a bent bar-bell for it.  I have 10GA rings in my ears and have no problems with the helmet...  (I'll let you know if that changes when I go to 8GA)

I wear a do-rag down over the eyebrow piercings.
I have wire rim glasses here, no problems getting in a nice & tight helmet (Scorpion Exo).
Earring with long posts is my only problem, 50/50 chance of snagging the liner of my helmet.
